Refresher re basic posting rules at RfM.

This is a discussion board set up to discuss Mormonism and to help those with questions, anyone considering leaving the Mormon Church, and those who have left and seek information and support. Mormons, ex-Mormons and people who have never been Mormon are all welcome. (No preaching is allowed by anyone, of Mormonism or any other faith. You are permitted to discuss your own experience with your faith, just no proselytizing.)

We do not offer therapy of any kind. Please (obviously) seek your own health practitioners.

While Off Topic posts are allowed, we ask that you keep them to a reasonable level.

Political topics are allowed now but you are asked to include a tie-in to Mormonism - this is not a general political discussion board.

The following topics, comments and behaviour are not allowed and will be removed:

1. Threats to other posters on the board or IRL.

2. Threats to people in general IRL.

3. Threats or thoughts of suicide. (If you are feeling suicidal please contact your local community resources. See post at top of board for numbers to contact.)

4. Arguments/fights with other posters.

5. Running animosity between posters.

6. Posters/posts that need constant Admin intervention (takes up too much time; not respectful of the board or the volunteer moderators.)

7. Anything else that fails to meet an acceptable (and obvious) standard for civil posting behaviour, according to moderator interpretation (and yes, sometimes things are subjective.)


Basic Standards:

1. Godwin's Law: If you have to invoke Hitler you have lost the argument.

2. Holocaust: Be respectful, at the least, (does it really need to be said) of the innumerable victims.

3. Be courteous towards fellow posters.

4. Please respect volunteer moderators, Admin and Eric, Board Founder. Nobody's making the big bucks here. Eric wishes for all to have a pleasant, informative posting and reading experience.


Thank you to all the posters who send in reports about questionable posts. We will take a look and decide how to handle each one. We appreciate you helping us to maintain the kind of board we want here (Basically: civil, informative, helpful, positive, supportive, focusing on Mormonism and the leaving of it.)
