I think he was arrested for criminal trespass on church property~ exterior temple grounds. The church really wants to nail him for revealing the secret temple ceremonies.

But Russ, I am only revealing that which has been revealed on other websites.
He put a long post on FB about how it happened, what went on with temple security and the arresting officer, and his booking procedure and such. Interesting stuff.
I was there at 2pm and a drawing was held to see who would be allowed in the court room as spectators. About 25 of us sat out in the lobby. Several men in suits (A GA and church security team members) came in and out of the court room with security escorts and taken to a special room to wait it out. I'm sure none of Mike's witnesses were given such special treatment. By 3:45, I received a phone call and had to leave. I don't know what the outcome is at this time.
He was convicted of a Class B misdemeanor (as N3 puts it, "one notch above jaywalking.") He has promised not to set foot on church property again. But he has also stated outside of court that he has plenty of helpers, so he doesn't *need* to set foot on church property again. Others are now available to make recordings.
I hope NNN and his merry band continue their efforts and there are more trials. This stuff has to hit the news; there must be more publicity for the temple videos!
I hope Mike learns his lesson and doesn't try to make good on his threat of having 'helpers' do his bidding.. Since by doing so he will effectively convert his Misdemeanor into a felony.. It's called CONSPIRACY to commit a crime. Conspiracy is a serious crime.. So I hope my brother stops being a dumbass and gets his head out of his backside on his emotionally driven antiMormonism.
I'm curious about the law. NNN was convicted of a class C misdemeanor.
Utah Code 76-4-202 states that a conspiracy to commit a crime other than a capital felony is considered less than the crime itself. Even a conspiracy to commit third degree felony is only a misdemeanor.
So how could a conspiracy to commit a Class C misdemeanor render NNN liable for felony charges?
There is a compounding effect of being found guilty of committing the same or similar crime multiple times. It isn't as simple as multiple misdemeanors equals a felony but it does mean that multiple misdemeanors equal the stiffest penalty. In this case I would guess that that could mean up to a year in jail with an accompanying fine of say $1,000. (these are guesses)
From my perspective this sort of civil disobedience serves no purpose because the light that it shines will never really be that bright. The headline, Mormons are weird, would most likely bring a head nod and passive agreement. Not the sort of emotional energy required to change Mormonism.
Yes, usually the repetition of a third degree misdemeanor would lead to charges of a second degree misdemeanor. The penalty would be minimal, I would think.
But you are right. In this case the light shed on the church may not be important, in which case there would be no point to NNN's going further.
As the other poster stated,it's a compounding effect. I think my brother shoots himself in the foot quite often. but walking out of the courtroom announcing his 'helpers' he is for all intents and purposes announced he intends to engage in a conspiracy to commit further crimes is troubling. So if anyone of his helper gets caught, he has already announce his own intention as a conspirator, so he can't say he didn't intend to conspire.
My brother seems to crave attention.. There is turmoil of a broken family of his childhood which my play a big role in his psychological need to be in the center of a controversy.

It's not that emotions are bad, they are part of the human considtion. It's just the kind of emotion that is fueling his antiMormon antics is the an unhealthy emotion being expressing in a self destructive manner.
I find that to be pretty much the case with most if not ALL AntiMormons. Because Mormonism, like all reglions is a 'faith' , based upon subjective beliefs.. Like whether or not you like Chocolate over Vanilla. AntiMormons have developed a personal aversion to a flavor and instead just avoiding the flavor, the go on an insane behavior of attacking the flavor... as if the flavor is at fault.. when the objective reality is that flavor is just not their cup of tea.. but it's OK.. others can like it even if they don't.
I sent him a friend request - he may not accept it, which is fine (he doesn't know me), but I hope he does so I can follow what he's doing closely. He's one of my new favorite people in the world.
What’s there left to show? He should do more spoof Mormon News websites. It was so funny when the church had to disavow the fake apology for its racist past.

That was hilarious! I would love to see more of that.
