When I met this 30-something writer he had been a long distance backpacker for several years and was living happily, contentedly, in the desert, in a 1986 VW Rabbit. He was raised a fundamentalist Christian but grew out of it. This article offers and answer to those who ask, "Well, what DO you believe?" (Where have we heard that question before?)
