He trusts that the Media will give proper respect to this observance!!
And Oaks got totally out of synch! He's going to hell!
Hey... Why did they give the shout? Was it to thank ghawd for appearing to JoJu 200 years ago?
And the implication was made that Nelson (HA-ha!) was in the very self-same grove when he was reading the proclamation... Which is, of course, utter (udder) bullcrap!
Does anyone remember the directive that all verses printed between the staves were to be sung at church meetings? Why is it OK to deviate for GC? I'm not complaining; fewer verses sung = less bullshit spewing forth, but still, I'm wondering what makes it kosher to them.
Last summer I played for an LDS funeral as a favor to a friend. It was a given that all verses printed between the staves (sometimes extra verses appear at the bottom of the page, but THOSE are optional) were to be sung in the congregational hymns, but two members of a quartet that was to sing wanted to shorten a hymn they were to sing to the congregation of mourners. The other two were all "No! We CAN'T omit any verses. It just isn't done."

Yes, I distinctly do. Some of the extra verses were printed in a very fine legal print at the bottom. Thought it was stupid, but that's what I remember about church in the 1990s; mindless edicts that were read from the pulpit.

I remember a lot of them involved "reverence" in SM.
They are resorting to focusing on a tree-house club ritual as something sooooo sacred and important? Seriously? That's all they have? People are OK with this?
These dinosaurs will probably pull the victim card when the public can't make themselves "respect" such nonsense. It's laughable.
What's even more insulting is that they think that is important NOW when people are losing jobs and dying. Honestly, I do not understand what people are actually gaining from their impotent religious "leadership." Maybe rituals like this are a diversion from reality.
A logo and a ritual take precedence during a pandemic and probable depression. Go figure.
They are pulling out all the magic tricks right now. Getting people distracted away from what is really going on and not actually helping or should i dare say LEADING the people to some safety. 100 billion could go a long way as levies to help hold people up and survive right now.
I was telling my boyfriend about this and he said that Hosanna means "Glory to God," so they are repeating themselves. He also suggested that they need something like a Shofar to blow rather than a hosanna shout. They don't even shout like they mean it. It is so blah.
Elder Berry,
Did your wife and daughter see you giggling?

I was in the other room. But I didn't hear them shouting. Not doing it right. I won't ask them why they didn't.
