Jesus is coming across as stingy.
He has his prudent servants (Prudent since the mid-1950s, when they stopped letting Henry D. Moyle have his way with the building fund) gather up a hundred billion dollars and then gives them no instructions on how to use it. But they assume he's cool with them tapping it to bail out Beneficial Life and the City Creek project.
But from current appearances, Jesus has gone walkabout. He has left the building, but the temple building fund goes on.
"If Jesus doesn't want us to build more temples, he'll tell us to stop. If he doesn't tell us to stop, we'll keep on thrilling the fans by announcing more temples!!"
I am a big fan of the Russia Temple! Here's what's on LDS.com on this holy place:
Russia Temple: Planning and approval phase; site location unknown; city not yet announced; groundbreaking not announced
Announcement: 1 April 2018
Construction Status: The Russia Temple is currently in the planning stages. No groundbreaking date has been announced.
Temple Rendering: Renderings of the Russia Temple and site plan have not yet been publicly released.
Temple Site: No city has been officially announced for the location of the Russia Temple. However, there are currently only three cities in the country where stakes have been organized: Moscow, Saint Petersburg, and Saratov.
Temple Announcement: President Russell M. Nelson made the historic announcement of Russia's first temple at the end of his closing remarks at the 188th Annual General Conference. No city was named as part of the announcement—only that it would be constructed in a major city yet to be determined. While serving as an apostle, President Nelson himself organized the first stake in Russia in the capital city of Moscow on June 5, 2011, in the 20th anniversary year of the Church being officially recognized by the Russian government. There are over 23,000 members of the Church in Russia organized into three stakes and ten districts.1
Temple Facts: The Russia Temple will be the fifteenth temple built in Europe and the first built in Russia.
When the Russia Temple was announced, no city was named as part of the announcement as it had not yet been determined.
We're two months short of three years beyond the announcement of this temple. Remember the gasps? The Stone was rolling forward; the dominos are falling!!! Or was it bowling pins?
Sure, ghawd is testing the Stains, er, the Saints. But being a Saint means living up to that name. One of the qualities is 'the patience of a Saint'. See, it all adds up, right?
What's a little test between a ghawd and his eager subjects, the ones with their eyes on the Eternal ball...? And he never promised them a rose garden...
