Will someone explain to me how we can change the orbit of the moon? I must have been out sick the day they covered that in my high school science class.
The principle is simple; it's the execution that's nigh on to impossible...
You know about tides, right? The moon 'pulls' the water towards it. So when the moon is on the land side of the oceans, it pulls the water towards the land and we have high tides. When the moon is on the ocean side, it pulls the water away from the land, so low tide. Most people understand this...
Now... When the west coast of the two Americans and Central America are at a low tide, you drop in concrete coffer damns, pinning the ocean to low tide. You do this along the WHOLE coastline!
When the moon moves to the position where it would create a high tide, the ocean all along that roughly 6,500-mile-long west coast is stuck behind the dam we put in place, so the water can't move! Which means the moon has to move! It gets pulled closer to the earth! It would be only mini-micro inches per high tide, but each orbit would see the moon moving closer and closer and in a couple of hundred years, the moon would appear to us on Earth to be closer and moving faster.
Stuff like this is going to be on your ghawdhood finals!
Maybe the Forest Service could just refocus the Jewish space lasers on the moon. I don't know if that would do anything to orbits but it would reduce the frequency of earthly forest fires.
The alteration to the moon's orbit would be changed a little too much. "I feel . . . a disturbance. As though millions of moon Quakers cried out at once and then were silenced."
The Forest Service has the reputation on getting things done as needed..... much of the time against rules and regulations.
To me it stems from the days the District Rangers were on their own with little over sight. They had the power over timber, grazing, mining and water rights.
The current rangers complain about all the rules and regulations that were mandated by the abuses their previous rangers caused to be enacted.
The same attitude is still in force when it comes to controlling forest fires. Money is never a constraint, just get the job done and let the politicians figure out how to pay the bill.
Climate control is just going to take more time and money.

The people voted in the “best and brightest”. Thank them.
I we took all the climate change deniers and loaded them onto Elon Musk's rocket ships and flew them to outer space, never to return to earth, it would probably change the orbit just enough to stop climate change :)
the moon's orbit around the earth is elliptical, this factoid also explains why some tides are EXTREME, others not.
IDK if this fact also explains or impacts why some individuals (including politicians) are so wacky in their opinions, but further research is indicated...
