If he shows parts of it and opens discussion about them he will most likely be in "Fair Use" territory - and MoronCentralSLC won't be able to do a damn thing about it. They can try but will lose in court and be on the hook for the costs and possibly punitive damages.
So, post parts and do a "scholarly discussion" of the crap.
I watched the live stream and the Mormon Stories about this. Yeah, really strange the one true Corporation would react this way. But I guess Jesus did copyright his Sermon on the Mount and any other factious rhetoric that could be inserted there... The snippets of video they showed were a boring stuffy meeting of indulgent, self-righteous "spiritual" wankery.
I've had one interaction with one of the Lord's "S'all Goodmen". Basically, the message was, our way or you don't have to participate was the Corporation's message to an inquiry about a permission form. The stakes were higher putting the video up of the bafoonery of the Lord's one true board members.
The Mormon church owns the copyright therefore you may quote from it but not reproduce it without their permission. I am not pro LDS but if that is the law then that is the law
They do own copyright, but do they formally file for registration? Without formal filing they can't sue in Federal Court and that is where Copyright infringement cases are heard.
