When we got to our site, I asked for a size 6 skating shoe. He looked down at my gunbolt shoes, and repeatedly asked me if the size I had ordered were too small!

I've heard my mom refer to gunboat shoes meaning a big size, but I've never heard the term gunbolt shoes. I'm guessing they mean the same thing.

I think it's the same thing that happened to me, when as a child I was certain that Rudolf the Red-nosed Reindeer ended with, "... and you'll go down and kiss Doreen."

It made perfect sense to me, even though I didn't know what Doreen had done to deserve it.
