He got 2 years of disfellowship and later on got hired at BYU.

I know a woman (my aunt) who got excommunicated for getting pregnant out of wedlock while being a student at BYU. She was only 19 years old pregnant and alone. But here this man Sterling gets only 2 years of disfellowship and got hired at BYU. Yes we all know the lds church is a boys club.

As of today (2023-08-20), when I search in Google for Sterling Van Wagenen, his floodlit listing comes up number 3 - below wikipedia and the Deseret News, but above the NY Times and the SL Trib. I think the rest of his life should be floodlit, especially when he's around little children.

I was in a play with his wife many years ago. She had the small cast over for dinner. He was weird, didn’t talk much and seemed nervous being there. I feel sorry for his wife.

Lapsed2 was just describing behavior which may or may not indicate ASD. I think that knowledge of ASD has been growing over the years, and a number of people know to make allowances for it when it's present.
