Why did God require a woman to create Jesus, when he didn’t require a woman to create Adam?

Adam is an artificial being,
and Eve is a clone of Adam,
with funner plumbing.

If you want logic and precision, get an education.

If you want logic and precision but still want to be mormon, go to the Y.

God's ways are inscrutable, and the answer to your question is not necessary for your salvation. :p

Maybe he didn't want to stir up more dust.

Brigham Young bloviated that he did.

That Brigham, always bloviating.

I don't think a woman was necessary, Mary was just around when God had the itch.

What if God was a little slow on the draw pulling out?

You're a genius, EOD. Your deep philosophical query reminded me of a song I used to like. I haven't heard it for a long time. It was the soundtrack for a TV show I used to watch: Joan of Arcadia. The name of the show's theme song is "What if God was one of us?" As you ask! Spooky eh?

I like the tune but also the words in the chorus:

What if God was one of us
Just a slob like one of us
Just a stranger on a bus
Tryin' to make his way home

-----

From Songfacts:

https://www.songfacts.com/facts/joan-osborne/one-of-us

"This was written by Eric Bazilian, who was working on the album with Rob Hyman and Rick Chertoff. He told Songfacts: "For me, the song was more about what happens to you when you look at something that has completely changed your world view, which could be meeting God, it could be meeting an alien, it could be a near-death experience, it could be anything like that. Just how everything you know is wrong, or everything you know is right, and you didn't know it."

"Eric Bazilian wasn't trying to advocate any specific religious belief when he wrote this song. "In my case, it's not a religious thing - I'm not a religious person," he told Songfacts. "My relationship with the absolute is very private and personal. I'm not trying to bring anybody around to any way of thinking. You don't write songs like that, they write you. When I write songs, I don't have any agenda. I often learn a lot about what I'm thinking about any given issue from the songs I write about it. There was no conscious decision to write a song with the 'G' word in it, but it ended up sort of summing up my world view inadvertently, just by the words that happened to pour out of me at the time."

-----

Made me laugh: Could be God, could be an alien. Hahahahahaha. Would we know which is which I wonder.

For me the song is not so much a religious theme - it's that the chorus expresses the way I like to see people. As in, don't walk past that hungry person and scorn them - you never know the circumstances behind someone's challenges. It's quick and easy to blame people. Harder to remind ourselves often that much of our bounty is luck of the draw, such as where we were born and to whom and how the chips fall, and not purely an outcome of our own efforts or merit.

Here's the song, dedicated to EOD this day. (Give it a chance - you have to get past the opening part of the video (kinda strange) and 1 or 2 verses to get to the chorus):

So now I'm going to be singing this chorus all day. It's kinda catchy, for several reasons.

Enjoy!

It's already on my MeTube playlist, Ms. NG, which is why it was the particular line was handy in my brain when it came to pass that I was pre-ordained, while in the pre-existence, to write my response to the OP.

Ghawd works in slippery and mysterious ways...

ETA: It's in the key of D Maj . . .

If memory serves he didn't need a woman to create Lilith either.

Lilith was a trial run, sort of like humanity before the Flood.

God had it right the first time with Lilith. The problem was rejection by the customer base (i.e. Adam). A simpler, more user friendly replacement was issued.

God built the woman HE wanted. Tells you something about God.

God needed a link between the fallen and the divine.

If he simply made a new creation from the dust, that creation would have no blood link to humanity.

Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

"Born of water" has nothing to do with baptism. Gestation, baby.

Has no one heard of parthenogenesis? Without it God couldn't be omni-everything. Needing a woman for procreation would be a weakness. So if men can become like God, then the women won't be stuck having baby after baby for eternity. Phew!

I had to finally solve the mystery we were told not to delve into. You are welcome.

But will those babies have belly buttons? Did Adam? Did Eve?

Details are important in theology.

Joseph Smith declared that women would have endless babies in the CK like it's a good thing.

No thank-you!

From Wikipedia: "Parthenogenesis occurs naturally in some plants, algae, invertebrate animal species (including nematodes, some tardigrades, water fleas, some scorpions, aphids, some mites, some bees, some Phasmatodea, and parasitic wasps), and a few vertebrates (such as some fish, amphibians, reptiles, and birds)."

The Q15 can be replaced by any of the above to be more like Jesus. I vote for tardigrades even though they are closer to parasitic wasps.

When all he had to work with was Adam, he created a woman from his rib.

After he created women and needed a Jesus....well, I think you get the idea.

If Eve was made from Adam, wouldn't they have the same DNA and mean that Eve is actually trans?
