Here's the thing:  eclipses are as predictable as sunrises and sunsets.  They're just a tad less common.

Absolutely NOTHING is gained by loading a personal memory of "seeing" an eclipse into your memory, but there will exist an opportunity to 'injure' one or both of your eyeballs.




For some reason, this all reminds me of the motorist who was pissed at the Arkansas State Patrol officer who had the motorist's car towed for no registration or insurance, because it prevented the motorist getting to his daughter's scheduled engagement...

I saw the last partial in my area with the aid of approved lenses. However my eyes are struggling, and I am no longer willing to risk my vision.

My girlfriend lives right in the middle of the path of totality. She and her son are excited.
