pompeity that I remember from the GA's x40 years in GC. I can easily picture Joseph Smith sounding the same way. Why on earth can't mormons see the similarity between Joeseph and Warren?
First line of the story, "Warren Jeffs describes why he can have multiple women with him at once. (48 sec.)," is a link to an MP3 file. You can play it or right-click and "save link as..." to save the file in .mp3 format.
Good question. I have my own partial theory. From observing a few people like this in real life, they don't seem to have the normal restraints in considering the effect of actions on others so it leads to more personal power than moral people have. Most of us could have more power than we do if we were willing to overpower and run over other people's needs. Moral restraint restricts our power. If you don't weigh the effect of your actions on others, you're not slowed down and get further ahead in seeking positions of power. Many of these types are also driven by immediate gratification and that plays out sexually. The rest of us don't value immediate gratification more than other important values (relationships, for example) so we don't end up with an out of control sexual impulse like these Joseph Smith clones do.
