Since the viability of a fetus is not recognized by the LDS church until it can live outside the womb, why would induced abortion be a sin? Is it? If a fetus is not seen as viable life requiring sealing or record keeping, why would the leadership consider any induced miscarriage a sinful act if it is nothing more than expelling fetal tissue.

Miscarriage is a term for spontaneous abortion. Induced abortion is induced miscarriage.

BTW, I take no moral position, just wish to discuss the LDS sealing of a stillborn or miscarriage.

What's the problem? Recognition of the viability of the fetus has nothing to do with how one thinks about the ethics concerned with abortion. It does have a lot to do with the grounding of your views, but not with your actual is-it-a-sin-or-not-position.
