The article mentions the FBI helped in the release of these girls. What is the FBI doing down there? It fuels the image that the US govt is a pert of the mission program. Interesting side note, there was a guy in my mission who who was approached by the CIA and setup for recruitment post mission and college. In talking to him about this, he said the agent that made initial contact told him they watch a lot of Mormon missionaries. That is a bit disturbing.
Wow, those girls are incredibly lucky that authorities took notice of their case and actually found them. Two naive Mormon girls (and maybe even virgins, which is a horrible thing to think of but let's be realistic) would have been sold right down the human trafficking highway.
