This "blonde-haired, blue-eyed Jesus" (who always looks a little like Ted Nugent to me) is one of the most puzzling artifacts of TSCC.

There is absolutely no archeological evidence for Jesus, is what I've heard; merely writing that dates to a couple of hundred years or more after his alleged death/resurrection/whatever.

I have heard of this. When I was in the MTC one of the sisters read it out as a spiritual thought. She was so overcome "by the spirit" she was crying etc. I thought it sounded a bit suspiscious at the time.. after all, woudn't it be more famous if it was real? I did manage to track down details of it somewhere - it's definately a work of fiction. Now the fact that the sister was so spiritually moved by such an obvious fake is my testimony that the spirit is just normal emotional response.

It's also evidence that a lot of Mormons are raised with racist beliefs.

My TBM ex said that Jesus had blue eyes, and he really believed that. I really made him mad when I said that a historical Jesus figure would have had olive skin and brown eyes.
