TBM: "I've read all the anti-Mormon stuff and it hasn't hurt my testimony one bit."
You: "OK, which anti-Mormon stuff have you read? Can you give me the title and author? Just name one anti-Mormon book that you've read. It's OK, I'll wait while you try to remember."

And if they're just not getting it all, perhaps comment that you felt the most worrying anti-mormon books were the 'History of the Church', 'Lectures on Faith' and 'Journals of Discourses'.

Me: Funny, I read LDS approved pro-mormon stuff and it destroyed any possibility of a testimony.
I read the first copy of the BOM and God couldn't use spell check! but he did by the second edition and CHANGED the definition of GOD!
I read the JOD and BYs comments about Blacks, adultery, women, Adam was God and the fact that what he said was scripture!
I read the results of translation of the BoA that we have actual scraps of with JS handwriting on them and they're not written by Abraham...they were printed in 350 AD, not 6000 BC.....
I read the interview of GBH where he told the world we didn't believe in "As man is, God once was, and as God is, man may become". Which is not true because I went to a 5 state regional young adult conference where that was the theme of the conference and we studied that doctrine for three days!!! And GBH said "I don't know that we teach that."
I read where the Jesus mall cost nearly 5 Billion dollars and has Tiffanys at one end...If Jesus is coming back why do we need a mall? And why put a mall where two have failed before? And why in this economy where over 80% of the members can't afford to shop there?
So come again...which anti Mormon book did you read? I read the real deal and it was a deal breaker!
Yep. I just love how they've already heard "all the arguments" or read "all the anti stuff," but when you really dig, they obviously haven't. At best they've only heard the anti stuff through Moplogist writings, which of course, will never give the reader the whole story.
Actually not only have they not read anti-Mormon literature, they even didn't come up with "I read it all and it didn't make a dent on my testimony" on their own. They are repeating even THAT phrase as something they heard from someone else.
Bring it back to the offensive parts of the Book of Mormon. Highlight the positive things in the book, and point out they're copied from the KJV bible.
