When I was 17 I had a very loud demon like voice yelling in my head when I was in the process of waking up. Scared the shit out of me. The closest thing I can compare it to is the voice of "the eye" in The Lord of the Rings (I think that's what it's called). It happened a couple years afterwards too but hasn't happened for 5+ years. I searched for it online, of course. It's called ex

I'm not sure if women acting dumber than they are is exclusive to mormonism. I know I'm guilty of doing this in the past and have been working on catching myself and stopping- but it's hard. Why is it hard? Because if a woman shows that she's smart and fierce she is seen as a bitch, or stuck up, and that is not a good quality in our society. For example: I was having a conversation with my fe

Hey, everyone. I recently heard from a slightly unreliable source that my sister (who is leaving for a mission soon) had to buy all of her mission supplies through a designated LDS website. This included a cheap bike that cost $600!!! Like I said, the person who told me this likes to exaggerate and make things sound much worse, especially in regards to the mormon church. Can someone confirm th

The lying about smoking seems to be more common than I thought... I know three people right now, all women, lying to their husbands about smoking cigarettes. Seems like it'd be a tough lie to keep, with the smell getting everywhere! That is eerie. I was worried if you loved your relative though, you were going to come kick my ass. lol

The anti-skinny talk bothers me A LOT because I have a few sisters that are "model" skinny, but they are in no way starving themselves because they eat all the time- they're just built like that. I guess people will make comments to them about needing to eat or about their weight, and it's offensive. I agree with you that people criticize to make themselves feel better.

Hey guys, I haven't posted on here in years but will stop by every now and then and browse... I need to vent however, about my jackmo coworker. Jack mormons seem to be worse because they believe everything but don't actually practice any of it, thus making themselves hypocrites that also feel huge amounts of guilt and shame (I'd imagine, anyways.) Anyway, my coworker is a HUGE hypocrite!

How old is this woman? This cannot be healthy for her or the child she is carrying. Risks increase with age.

Ohh ok that makes sense I guess. Since you've seen a lot of weird stuff what is your opinion about porn? Are you against it, for it?? I don't mind watching the "normal" stuff every now and then but I don't really know what to believe since I was raised TBM. I don't know if I'm ok with porn just because mormons are against it :)

One commenter said, "I do think it's immoral, and absolutely does perpetuate misogyny." Really? Men learn to hate women by viewing porn? There was also a commenter who said this: "It is not normal to enjoy watching other people have sex, it is not normal to enjoy watching women and men being forced to do something, it is not normal to enjoy watching a 21 year old who is pretendi

Damn, temple weddings piss me off! Just a couple months ago I was standing outside the temple while my brother got married inside. After they came out we were standing around and the bride and groom were getting their pics taken by my cousin, who is also the bride's best friend. I overheard my cousin's husband (who had been inside the temple and was there for their wedding) complain about how he

I heard a recommendation that kids shouldn't even see a tv (even off) before the age of 2. How crazy is that? And how exactly are you supposed to do that? Hide the tv in the attic? I think moderation is fine. And kids definitely need to get plenty of outside time too. But if they are getting plenty of exercise I don't see the big deal about watching tv. One thing that bothered me growing up

Wow your aunt sounds insane! I can't imagine how freaked out she would have been if her child hadn't got married in the temple. I don't have any relatives that are that crazy, luckily, though my dad did get very very upset when my sisters and I played gypsies when we were younger (we had just watched the Hunchback of Notre Dame). I was wearing an ankle bracelet and I remember him coming home f

When I was still in young womens I was driving in the car one day with my TBM aunt and one of my young women leaders. I was in the back seat and they started to talk about depression and how they were both on anti-depressant medication. I was shocked! I had no idea that my aunt was depressed. And the other woman always seemed so happy and was always smiling. My aunt asked me to not tell my cousin

It sounded like the women wouldn't be using the vibrators by themselves, alone, masturbating, they would be using them with their husbands. But it sounded as though the husbands would be looking at porn by themselves. I guess I just see the situations as different. Now, if the LDS church thinks its ok to use vibrators as a couple than it should also think it's ok to watch porn as a couple, too

Mormons don't like porn because it puts (sinful) images in their minds that once they see they can never ever get rid of (scary, right?). As far as using a vibrator during sex as a couple, wouldn't it just be extra stimulation?? I guess I don't see how using this as stimulation compares to porn. Also I know some TBMs might consider looking at porn cheating because you are thinking about someon

I used to carry my scriptures to church every sunday in a bag with the "for strength of youth" pamphlet. I'm sure based on my scripture bag TBMs would have come to the same conclusions about me as they did with this girl. But just because you carry the "for strength of youth" around with you doesn't mean you would never ever masturbate, make out with your boyfriend, or touch e

I hate how they use the word "worthy". And for him to think he has the all-knowing power of god to tell you that you aren't "worthy" shows how much of an ass he is! It sounds as though he was also trying to say you're not good enough to be a father, too, which is even more of a dick move. I agree with the posters above- give your child a blessing yourself. Is it even nece

Sex isn't ok until you've been to the temple, right? A big reason people even go to the temple in the first place is to get married so they can have, wait for it... sex!
