Oh no, she's not interested in anyone (maybe not even me) at the moment. Her family lives down there so she wants to get closer to them and she has recently start practicing again so I'm sure there is a certain appeal to being in the mother land.

Great advice, thank you. It's a catch 22, becasue we are trying to reconcile so I don't want to do anything hasty, but at the same time I see your wife's point about getting int front of this before I lose control.

Yeah, I found some attorneys here that do free 1/2 hour consults so I'll start there and see what happens. Ultimately reconciliation would be best for all, but might not be an option here...we'll see.

hey, thanks so much for the advice thus far. We did see a counselor but it didn't work too well for us. We're still working on it, but the cracks are starting to show in both of us and we're getting close to being done with it. If we didn't have the girls I'm sure one or both of us would have walked away already.

So, our marriage is kind of the rocks, related to the church of course. I had a few questions about this situation. 1. We currently reside in Seattle. My wife said she is going to start to look for jobs in Salt Lake. My assumption is that this is a veiled threat and that if she finds a job she will leave with or without me. We have 20 month old twin daughters. If she gets a job and takes

This is hilarious...if the Prophet is talking to God why does he need a bloody survey, what a joke.

Yeah, generally, they are pretty cool about it. She told them (and me) that she would like to be left alone about religion and generally they respect that. We still get our monthly Ensign so there is still that constant, passive pecking that Mormons are good at, but other than that, not a lot of overt pressure.

Lol, that's funny, we actually went to a Gottman course. One of the counselors there said that this situation would be a lot easier if one of us had just cheated on the other one :). So, after the Gottman course, we did end up going to a Gottman certified therapist and he wasn't really able to help us either. It really came down to being accepting of our religious and cultural differences a

Thanks really appreciate that. It's good to hear someone who cares about what I want as well :). I guess my thought is that my wife has sacrificed by being in Seattle for the last 10 years or so that we've been dating/married so part of this is also a gesture of good will towards her in getting closer to her family. I like your approach, though, much more analytical and thorough then just

Definitely my mom will help out with the kids every now and then...but for my wife, it's not the same. while my family is 'family' to her, they're not her family so it's just the same for her. It's the stresses of having kids, along with the stresses of changing religions (twice), along with being away from her family (they are actually really close, like talk on the phone every day), plus s

Yeah, I didn't give the full back story on the original post because I wanted to keep the conversation focused on the divorce laws...but, basically, my wife converted to Islam when we got married (which is what I am)...after the kids were born she changed her mind and said she didn't want to be Muslim anymore (and wanted to be Mormon again)...we've had many fights about that and also went to a th

I am considering a move to Utah due to my wife's family living there. I'm a nevermo and she's a ex/confused/faith crisis maybe mo? Lets just say she doesn't like religion at the moment, but if she had to select her religion on an application she would probably check the mo box. Anyway, we've had sort of a rocky 18 months of marriage since we had twin daughters. Obviously religion has been

I was expecting Joanna Brooks to get exed after she put up a blog post indicating that the 'brethern' are actively monitoring the on line activity of its members. I guess she isn't as expendable as Kate Kelly. Here's that post if anyone wants to read it, its a good one: http://askmormongirl.wordpress.com/2014/06/20/the-real-mormon-moment-is-now/

I had no idea...I assumed that Zions was owned by the Mormon church...just based on the name...thanks for clarifying that.

That's good to hear. I'm also an IT worker, so I'm particularly interested in that department. I read some reviews on Glassdoor and most of them were favorable. Some did indicate that their health insurance benefits are horrible, but I suppose that's something I can ask them about if/when I move forward in the interview process.

So, I got a possible job opportunity at Zions Bank. I'm morally opposed to this, but sometimes survival takes precedence over your morals. Does anyone here work there? What's it like? Would it be just like working for the morg? Or do they actually run it like a professional business with proper org charts, career paths, business processes, etc? Would I be treated poorly because I'm not L

I do hope they ex her...all the great ladies in the OW movement, even on the fringes will then greatly question the church...Also, if they let her off, all of the people who are part of the OW movement will think that the lord has done his will and got her off and think that THE church is TRUE.

Good posting here from the author of the book the Book of Mormon Girl...she says the witch hunt is on. Good reading and I'm glad she's jumping on this band wagon, hopefully she is out soon too...my wife who is having a faith crisis really relates to this lady so if she's raising concerns it's good for everyone here: https://askmormongirl.wordpress.com/2014/06/20/the-real-mormon-moment-is-now/

LOL, this guy is ridiculous...most of what is in the play is not untrue...it just calls out the true, ridiculous beliefs that make the religion look stupid and he doesn't like it His letter would be more effective if he actually called out what was 'untrue.'

I was thinking about it, and does the Mormon church go down as the biggest hoax in the history of the world? I mean think about it, old JS got everyone believing in this fake book and it got built up into a multi-billion dollar business. Not only that, but each generation of 'profit' after the other have continued to perpetuate the hoax and all the members have participated in it...quite in

Yeah, I'm definitely a bit floored by this...I'm not going to argue about it with her too much, but part of me just wants to say 'Come on man, they're just babies...this isn't a strip club.' Not worth getting in a fight over at this point, but I definitely think we need to have a conversation about our definitions of modesty and how we want to apply those to the girls; this is just too weird
