Wait... wasn't there woman priests at one point, too? I remember reading something on it once, but I can't find the reference. There's nothing on any LDS-affiliated site, though :(

I effing hate the expression "bear testimony". It feels so unnatural. Why can't people just use the simple verb for it? Testify? Far easier and shorter too than the "bear testimony"? Maybe they mean "This is my 'bare' testimony" (as in "this and only this is my testimony"). I doubt they mean "the bear testimony" (the animal). It seems that b

I have non-Mormon Christian friends and members of ext. family. The standard question when I say I've met a new friend or so is "Oh, is she/he Christian?" When joining an association/club of some kind the question is rephrased: "Are there any Christians there, though?" "Do they drink?" ... I don't think it's just a Mormon thing.

Ah... *looks up* "He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it." Heh. They're as bad as the Catholics when it comes to bastardizing Scripture.

One day the prophet will have a revelation that Joseph Smith was the Christ reincarnated once again. Of course, Mormons would laugh that off, but it wouldn't surprise ME. They'd find scriptual evidence... they will write scriptual evidence... failing those two, they will edit the Book of Mormon.

I would think that Mormons would resent having their faith shown as "the fastest-growing religion". They don't have a religion of their own, or so they say, they're CHRISTIAN! HAH. In anyway, I think Christianity is the fastest-growing religion when it comes to converts and Islam when it comes to births. Buddhism is getting a stronghold in India once again. Many millions conver

Uh! I've never been to a temple, so I've never got myself a temple name. I just have to ask: what's the point of a temple-name? What's the basis of it? And why do people have to have them? Is it like necessary to have one to get to CK?

All Mormons get to the CK, duh! She wasn't obviously a good Mormon. Telestial or Terrestrial for her and her FRIENDLY friends. I'd never want to go to CK. Seems... boring. At least some mischief happens in the others... But in the CK it's the God dictatorship.

So I thought I'd start studying just for the sake of it.It's fun and you learn things. My first area of study is religion. HAH. I so want to write an essay on Mormonism. Would be awesome! If I can't write a whole essay on a particular Mormon topic, I will aim to at least include Mormon views on matters. Just to spread the message! Wish me luck! Once my essays start popping up I will ask

One of my best argumentative essays ever was the essay entitled "Be vegan and save humanity". I loved it. I loved it because it was well-written and I didn't stand for a single word of it. Well I understand the arguments they just don't relate to me. But I chose this subject, got the highest grade available on the essay and was very happy about it. Also, arguing for something you

How is a beauty pageant Christian? And Mormon for that matter? What happened to the "content of our characters"? Oh wait, that was MLK, and he's evil. Found some Bible quotes: 1 Peter 3:3-4 Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with t

Before I met the Mormon missionaries, I once was visited by some Jehovah's Witnesses. My computer was playing synth music by Kraftwerk. I was shocked when the JW 'missionary' said "Ah, Kraftwerk! They're good! From Germany, no?" And differentiate this from when an LDS missionary came and had absolutely no clue on popular culture (even American one).I could see how annoyed the mor

Hm, don't they know that the Sabbath is on a *gasp* SATURDAY!? That's at least what the Lord said, innit?

How can the decision from Roe v Wade be strengthened? I thought it was 'liberal' enough? Hm... Apparently, here in Sweden, it's practice to let a die, if it is removed from the woman and yet survives. Frankly, it's illegal to do anything to safe the life of the fetus/child once out of the mother. It's not a person then? I don't understand the reasoning... Personally, I have in my adult

Seriously, but was it the point of them? I just don't understand... Why would God want us to have special underwear? What's the rational basis for this?

I've never understood the point of the magic underwear. I'm glad I was refused temple access. Not that I asked for it, I just took my refusal for granted haha. I mean... really? Why wear them? Do real Mormons ever cheat?

I love languages. I admit it. That's also why I hate the Book of Mormon. Joseph Smith thinks Elijah and Elias are two different people, hehehe. Clueless. Anyway. I tried to see what languages I could find the Book of Mormon in. Was there a Latin one? Ah, no. I could only find the first chapter of the Book in Latin. Ah well... but what's the church called in Latin then? eh? Nob

This happened in Europe a week ago, I think. I slept an hour extra. And I also had an extra sleep-in. So that made it two hours extra of sleep? :) How un-Mormon of me!

It's stupid. Stuuuuupid. What if you pray in a non-inspired language (like Hebrew! or, in my case, Swedish!)? Yeah, is the sacrament not valid then, eh? My their own logic it would seem so. English is the new liturgical Latin or what? :P

Not here at least. I think it'd be counter-productive. Mind you, we only got political election adverts on television here in 2010, and that was veeery controversial. I've not seen anything Mormon on TV ads here. Then again, nothing religious either. Unless you count the real charity organizations that have religious overtones: like the Luther Mission (Church of Sweden's charity). If you

I don't think it's more righteous or official either way. In the UK, many churches use the "Ahh-men", while in the US many churches use the "Aim-men". I don't see it as a problem, unless you think fo the word itself. I mean, why should that word be used? Is it some kind of magic spell that makes God listen if you use "amen" at the end of the prayer? Heh.

Hm, not sure I get it? Your wife has no issues with gay people or with homosexuality, but you want to use her church to influence her away from that openmindedness? Isn't that counter-productive?

I was a member of the Swedish Liberal Party when I first came in contact with the missionaries and the church. I was at the time very non-compromising when it came to freedom of religion. I cherished that right more than anything. Then came Mormon. I stopped going to the party meetings. Was really nervous for anyone to know that I had been a member of the party. I hid all those thoughts.

In Sweden (and the EU) we have a law that states that any authority, company or organization must send any person all and any information that this authority, company or organization has on the person in question. That's why Facebook faces legal challenges in the EU, and why you can request from Facebook to send you all information they have on you (free of charge), as long as you're subject t
