Read my reply above. Actually, I wanted to add a little to it. If you must have these discussions, always focus on the immorality of the statist position. They must first explain why it is OK to take that which is not theirs. Do not accept any argument from utility (I don't care how honorable your intentions are or even how great the outcome may, supposedly, be). Theft is wrong, always. They can'

Alpiner, I too am libertarian and have had the type of reasoned, well informed discussions that you are clearly trying to have. My advice, give up. There always comes a point where you agree to disagree. This is the point where you lose. You go your separate ways and, as your philosophy demands, you leave people alone to their beliefs. However, they go their way and proceed to force you, through

Are you sure this isn't something out of that last Indy Jones epic, "They have gone to the space between spaces." And, if you really think we have any real idea what history and ancient civilizations are about, let's discuss the pyramid recently found in Bosnia (Yes, the one in Europe). http://beforeitsnews.com/beyond-science/2013/04/30000-year-old-bosnian-pyramids-built-with-man-ma

"A major role in a zone conference" is an oxymoron. Anyone who thinks a zone conference is worth anything other than the time you don't have to spend knocking on doors, has never actually been to a zone conference.

Just the word "triff" was enought to bring back a flood of memories. That old mission slang, the harder they tried to eradicate it, the stronger and more widespread it became.

Your mission is headed straight to a Groberg type meltdown. Use the search function on this site and input "Groberg". You will recognize quite a bit.

Be very careful what you wish for, you just might get it. Look up FATCA and decide if this is really something you want to deal with for the rest of your life.

Credit for the most excellent story goes to Gentleben. He only hinted at the incident in a previous post and I couldn't wait to get it out of him. Also, if you ever get down to Chigasaki in Kanagawa, there is this really cool Chinese restaurant with a glass floor and a model train and "diarama" underneath it. You sit and eat while the train does its rounds. Its is called Kofuji. T
