I'm just curious if anyone's ever checked into the possibility that Joseph Smith may have had sexual relations with any men (or boys) and not just women (and girls). I know that another cult figure, Jim Jones, was into boys and men, and I just would not put it past Joseph Smith.

Yeah, but that was because I didn't try to hide it from them. I sort of felt like it made me a rebel. :)

In Utah I do believe they do it by stake, not by ward.

My mom resigned her membership in TSCC when I was out on my mission. I was never a trainer, District Leader, Zone Leader, Assistant to the President or anything higher than Senior companion. I never let it bother me either. I thought people who aspired for positions were superficial anyway, and so I never let it bother me. But now I'm starting to wonder if my mom's resignation had something t

Stick a rock in my Anaheim Angels hat, put my face in it, and see if I have any visual or auditory hallucinations.

I'm not an artist, or I would do this myself. Could someone do a painting of Christ hanging on the cross in LDS temple garments? You know, because Jesus and his apostles did wear them after all. (wink wink)

As a missionary in Brazil, my companion and I entered a hospital where one of the Ward members was recovering. The hospital rooms at this particular hospital are like the ones you see in war movies, there were no partitions between the beds. After giving this blessing, a number of different people saw what we had done and asked for blesssings. I have no way of telling if they were members or no

If he was using a computer at BYU or BYU approved housing, I guarantee you that they have a router gateway that logs his online activity and captures packets.

I missed the last one, I should be there tomorrow. I'm literally right across the street from the Lexington as I type this, by the way. :)

About 5 years ago my EQ president accused me of being dishonest about my home teaching. He accused me of avoiding my companion. I told him that my companion never called, never knocked on my door, and never sent me an e-mail. He still accused me of lying. I told him if he were truly inspired, then the Spirit of God would have told him I was not lying (I was dead serious when I said this). Be

When I volunteered at DI I noticed that there were quite a few donations of garments. They send them to SLC and SLC takes care of them. You can take them to DI, if you want. Me, I hang on to mine and use them as "emergency" underwear if the laundry didn't get done.

My advice, you can't make others happy at the expense of your own personal happiness. This is a form of mental illness called codependency. Sometimes you need to be selfish for the sake of self-preservation. The fact that you feel like your personal integrity is at stake here indicates to me that this is the conflict you have - the one between sacrificing your happiness to make others happy vs

I used to think that when they showed Jesus hanging on the cross in his underwear that it was depicted wrong because it didn't show him in his garments.

The more I try to coax my wife into leaving the more she resists. When I just use the "wu wei" method of action through inaction, she figures stuff out on her own. She even reached out to the Pastor at my church with some doctrinal questions which gave me a good indication that she's having a "crisis of faith". 16 year old DD stopped me on my way out the door Sunday to ask

1. Growing 2. St. George, UT 3. Large families and old snowbirds (who are set in their ways) I'd like to also mention that my non-denominational Christian church has grown by 65% within the last year. We have just over 800 members and are going to be moving into a new building shortly. We are a good mix of elderly, middle-aged, and youth. We're about 80% former LDS.

Unfortunately, in my experience both as a missionary and with missionaries (after I left TSCC) I get the impression that they don't have an open mind about other people's beliefs. They what you to buy what they're selling and don't want to hear what you're selling. I told the missionaries about a spiritual experience I had after leaving TSCC and they pretty much told me that only Mormons are

I think that's the fundamental though process that allows people to learn, to admit that they may not be right and to continue seeking wisdom and the truth.

I learned that nobody remembers those who take second place, they only remember the winners and unless you're living up to all your covenants, you're only 2nd place. What a load of rubbish! My Portuguese was not sufficient. I learned from 2 Americans and a Korean. I found, when I arrived in Brazil, that part of learning a language is getting your ear accustomed to hearing the accent. Grant Palmer is going to get a "court of love" for his book, "An Insider's View of Mormon Origins". He says that he's still a full tithe payer. I think that alone will keep him from getting ex'd. TSCC wants those funds to keep rolling in, even if the source is an apostate one: http://www.deseretnews.com/article/595110832/Ex-LDS-Church-teacher-may-face-excommunication.htm

So how come I got sick on the undercooked ham and funeral potatoes at the Ward potluck two years in a row? Oh, that's right, because I'm a sinner. I forgot.

The NASB and ESV are closer to the Koine Greek and better translations than the KJV. Holy crap! It was reading the CEV Bible that convinced me that the Book of Mormon wasn't true. If I only had the KJV to rely on, I think I'd give it up and only read the BoM out of shear laziness.
