I suggest you watch/read that to see what most atheists believe. He makes the point that everyone is at least some part atheist in that we don't believe in most of the so called "Gods" that have been thought up. Think about it...

I'm from Lehi and I'm an RM. At first it was hard, but I love to argue and consider myself pretty good at it, so it was kind of fun. I even had some heated debates with my MP on facebook. When the time comes, I hope you can do it.

I've tried on multiple occasions to resign via e-mail, with no luck. I'm just wondering why more of you don't send the church a message (both literal and figurative) by resigning? I don't think the missionaries will bother you more afterwards if that's a concern.

I go to the U of U and I've met some really great people here. Sure, there are the run-of-the-mill TBMs, but there are atheists and everyone in between. You just have to look.

If they did, they wouldn't be on missions.

Please don't go! I almost cried when I saw that you were considering going. It is a HUGE waste of time and you'll hate every minute of it not believing what you're supposed to teach. PLEASE DON'T GO!

So, I got the beating around the bush answer all the time growing up, but there is no denying it. Mormons = Young Earth Creationists. 1. Joseph Smith claims that the garden of Eden is in Missouri. 2. The flood takes Noah and family off to the "old" world. 3. The Jaredites float over to America and find the "new" world, which is actually the "old" world, but an

I really offended some people. I could have done it with more tact, but the church really pisses me off. They had me lying to people for 2 years! Anyways, my MP saw this and has asked to meet with me. I kindly denied his request and said we could debate the issues methodically over fb messaging. I sure hope he agrees and that I get the chance to let him in on reality!

I commented on a mission companion's post on facebook and his bitch wife comes in and calls me out for being an atheist! I'm not atheist, I'm a secular humanist who believes there is some type of deity out there, but the evidence is lacking. Anyway, how the hell would she know that I'm not active anymore?! God, it seems like these mormons know more about me than the NSA!!!!!

Community service is a regular part of the routine now. Knocking doors has proven to be too ineffective. No surprise there!

Men have the priesthood-the power on earth to perform the sacred, saving ordinances of the gospel. Women, however are told that they are equal in the church because they can have children. This "privilege" requires women to: have periods for 5 days a month, every month, carry a baby for 9 months, and endure the excruciating pain of childbirth in which many women die. Not to mention

That makes a lot more sense. I just don't understand it because I wouldn't do it myself I guess.

Why do the General Authorities of the church keep the lie going? They KNOW it's all a lie. I don't really see how they benefit from tithing. Sure, they make money from their fame by selling books and whatnot, but they don't directly receive tithing funds. What do you all think their goal is behind the deception? Are they trying to do good overall and this is the best way they can think of doi

I'd go, just because I got to learn Spanish. I kind of feel like it didn't happen in a way though.

So, on my mission the mission president had his favorites as I'm sure is true with many of you. He chose some real tools to be leaders and while I disagreed with many of his decisions, I accepted them as a good Mormon missionary does. But, there was this one Elder-a Tongan I think, who got away with nearly anything. He was a district leader far away from the mission home and would go to clubs

So, a couple of weeks ago, I parked at the City Creek center and had to pay $17.00 to get out. I was pissed, so I wrote a little update on fb about it describing my concern for where tithing goes. Today, I received a message from a member I taught on my mission, saying her husband was just as upset as I was and that now he's struggling to go to church. I feel bad about it, because it wasn't my

I have moved out, actually I live with my non-mormon fiancee. My mom doesn't know that though. It's just when I go home to visit, she brings it up.

So, I'm an RM and have been reading this forum since I got back from my mission. Questions arose during my time in Texas and I have now conceded to the fact the church is not all it's cracked up to be. Anyway, my mom keeps trying to talk to me about my in-activeness and no matter what I say, she always has the same answer. "It won't hurt you and the past is the past - move on." I've
