The only thing that would have absolutely sealed the door closed would have been sending cc's to your local police, the stake president and to the mother ship in SLC.

Thanks to Argus Hamilton http://www.argushamilton.com/argus.htm Phil Mickelson agreed to pay the SEC a million dollar fine to pay back profits from an insider stock trading deal involving Clorox stock. You can’t make it up. Leave it to a guy who’s a golf pro and a Mormon and lives in La Jolla to get busted investing in a product that makes things even whiter.

So--- as a non-Mormon, what I understand from the various topics on this board, all the rules of the LDS are up to the bishop and/or the stake president, or how good you are at lying to them. Nothing is cast in stone. Did I get it right?

Lord Grant me the serenity to accept the things I can't change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Niebuhr Nature takes care of things on it's own time, humans only think they can guide Nature, we are mostly just fools. Sit back and enjoy the ride called life. 'The Dude', I agree there is nothing finer than to watch Nature do it's work.

Somewhat OT, but when growing up in New Mexico, my brothers and I would go fishing on Sunday, but we'd have to go to Mass first. One church had a 5:00am mass for people that had to work, so we would go then. 9 out of 10 times the assigned altar boys didn't show up and we'd get drafted. The priest was a real nice guy that we'd do it on a moments notice, so in turn we'd tell him we're goin

If the guy gets pushy, tell him you'd bounce the idea off your husband and see if everyone's schedules will allow a visit. Then add that it is inappropriate for him to invite himself over when your husband is out of town. Lay it on the line, let him know he is making you feel uncomfortable.

Glen’s uncle, Dick Bills, had a western band that played the cowboy bars in Albuquerque back in the 50-60’s. He also had a kids after-school show on TV that showed western theme shows and he sang with his band called the ‘Sandia Mountain Boys’. Sandia Mountain is the mountains just east of Albuquerque. The show was on KOB-TV and the theme song/show used that as the name of his TV ran

I have a LDS friend and we trade barbs with each other regarding religion. Back when John Kerry was running for president (2004), my friend reported that Kerry's heritage was Jewish. So I replied, "So does that make him one of the lost tribes you guys (LDS) have been looking for?" My friend smirked and punched me on the shoulder. I think my friend is a borderline Mormon on the

Just to look at the other side of the coin, what kind of restrictions would be imposed on the students if they were to visit Notre Dame University? I assume they would be required to dress appropriately if their tour was into the chapel or other religious places, but dressed like they felt comfortable on the campus, cafeteria, auditoriums.

BYU has a pretty good woman's basketball team, they lost in the championship game by 2 points in the West Coast Conference. They were picked to go to the NCAA tournament but lost in the opening round to #10 Missouri. Their outstanding player was Lexi Rydalch, she's been drafted by the Seattle Storm of the WNBA. Check out Lexi's honors in her basketball career, she's great. http://byucou

Sounds like a high pressure salesman, "Get it now, this sale price will never be repeated, do it now or you'll regret it for the rest of your life." If you love the atmosphere of the church, tell them that and that you want to study the situation more until you make a final decision.

Tell her to give you "non-sexual" affection like she wants, treat me like you want to be treated. If she can't do it, or throws it back in your face that you aren't listening, then the suggestion by others about fin

If or when you decide to get an ET, check out the cost of the replacement brushes. They are almost as expensive as the tooth brush itself. Most people have never been taught how to brush and/or floss properly, ask the dental hygienist and get their opinion about ET or regular brushes.

Baptism at 8 or any other "binding" commitment at 8 isn't a legality thing, it's brain washing. If a child isn't brain washed by the time they are 8, the child can be turned to other religions or ways of thinking. Think of it when you raised you own kids, you needed to get them to think and act like you wanted by that age or you've lost them to their peers.

President Obama told reporters he’s committed to building a monument in Washington D.C. honoring the gay lifestyle in America. It came as a big surprise to locals. Everybody thought that the tarp covering the Washington Monument was just to protect it from the rain during renovations.

I heard a radio program the other day and the hosts were discussing the economy and the middle class. One stat they threw out was that of the families considered middle class, if they got hit with a $400 emergency, 45-50% would have to sell something, or borrow the money from a family or friend. That's really scary, that many families living on the edge, paycheck to paycheck.

A girl that I dated in college Dad was killed when he was plowing a field and hit a rock that flipped the tractor over on him. He had plowed the same field for over 20 years and never had problems with rocks during that time. You just never know what can happen.

My Dad use to sell some fishing products to a local Walmart. Through their accounting, he'd billed and got paid through their headquarters in Arkansas. His sales were relatively small, maybe $2-3000 a couple times a year. One day he got a check from them for $180,000. He took a few days thinking about it and decided to wait a month or two to see if they'd call. He didn't deposit it. A
