Randy Bachman, fellow exmo, AKA a Canadian rock legend (The Guess Who and Bachman Turner Overdrive) is selling some of his iconic guitars. His son Tal (also fellow exmo) mentioned one time a "Les Paul". "Is that a guitar?" I cluelessly asked. "Yes, NG, that's a guitar" he replied, patiently. I looked it up to find out that yeah, that's a nice instrument. (I ha

It's seriously unbelievable. I have NEVER attended another church of any denomination where anybody, but especially the pastor/leader inquires about my underwear. For a brief moment in time, when I had lost my mind for a bit, I was with the JWs and true enough, they thought they owned the rights to my clothing selections in terms of dress/skirt lengths. Modesty at all costs! Jehovah God doe

Yikes. So many numbers to wrap my head around, not my favourite thing. But enlightening (what I can comprehend of it). This does sound vaguely familiar now - likely we've chatted about it before. Too bad for Cdn taxpayers - we need a few breaks - like whatever keeping the $$$ up here could provide. The amounts of $$$ are astronomical. You'd think the church could give folks a break and reduce

No matter which church denomination I have ever attended, not a single person has once even mentioned my underwear, never mind policed my choices! Personal privacy. What a concept. The bishop at the ward I attended blushed during one of our apparently mandatory little chats (overall very few) as he hesitantly edged around asking about personal stuff like all church leaders of every denomina

I heard current analysis that because of the highly antagonistic race relations at the time some were worried O.J. wouldn't get a fair trial. Turns out there was apparently a higher percentage of Black jurors and many people thought that's why he was found innocent despite the prosecutors thinking their case was airtight. O.J.'s fans at the time sure looked shocked and then thrilled while white v

Here's an example of humans doing everything in their power to assist a stranded baby whale after the death of its mother. Their efforts so far have been spurned by the calf. They're thinking that it isn't ready yet to leave the area where its mother recently died (pregnant and beached). Touches your heartstrings. Hoping for the best. Poor little lonely babe. https://bc.ctvnews.ca/rescuers-beg

It's terribly disappointing (understatement). It's awful to read articles like the one below about one's country that is supposed to be so wonderful (it is in many ways, of course, but in some it's got a long way to go). https://vancouversun.com/opinion/op-ed/nicholas-read-when-it-comes-to-animal-welfare-canada-is-no-world-leader I've seen other recent articles that certainly didn't rank Ca

It's surprising and disappointing when the general impression we have of our country is that we care about the well-being of fellow humans and all the creatures we share this planet with but just a quick check amply demonstrates we're very slow at times to get up to speed in ways that should be no-brainers. A friend mentioned today the fish in Florida that are swimming in circles and then dyin

"They're not all empty". Very deep. Could be a useful slogan at the nearest vaccination clinic. :) Re the natural immunity concept: I wouldn't bet the bank on one bout of infection bestowing complete immunity and especially not 3+ years out. The virus morphs. Hence the need for updated vaxxes. Too many people hear a tiny piece of a concept, do little or no research, and ye

"Ex-Twitter": I haven't seen that 'new name' before. Excellent! Of course I've heard and seen the 'X' part. It's highly annoying that so many people now call it: 'X, formerly Twitter'. BoJ has given them a better, pared down, way to ID the site. So funny that by sound the new name "ex" comes before the old name. Way snazzier than 'X, formerly Twitter'. Shorthand if y
