Up here in North Idaho (Coeur d'Alene) there is literally NO ENFORCEMENT of any of the covid protocols. I'm in downtown CDA and everyone is outside in swimsuits on the crowded sidewalks just enjoying the day. Restaurants are crammed and some of the bars are open. Lots of boats in the lake. No one is paying attention to the 1000% increase in cases just in Kootenai County. https://panhandl

It is blowing up here in Coeur d'Alene. We went from barely nothing to 700+ cases in the last two weeks.

Again, this is a great comparison! The parasitic cult will consume and consume until you have nothing else to give. I remember establishing boundaries with the cult as to how much I was going to give to it but I felt guilty a lot of the time for not doing enough. Nice to have the parasite removed, that's for sure.

Clearly you all need to watch the movie "Arrival". It was oscar nominated.

Well said! It is interesting to see the cult as a parasite. A mental and emotional parasite. I'm going to use that.

I stand all amazed at the stupidity of my TBM family members. My father went from one failed business venture to another even after being warned by other TBM’s he knew. He would simply ignore their advice or any of the warning signs and just “pray about it” and get the confirmation he wanted to proceed into something that cost him in the end. My older brother went from one failed mar

I went on my mission in the Philippines and I was constantly hit up with filipinas who wanted to marry me. I really had little game back home but I felt at the time that it would be inappropriate to marry one of the filipinas from my mission. In my head I thought they just really wanted a ticket out of there. So I returned from my mission and married the first blonde who would give me the ti

I have been fascinated with learning about other cults because it is amazing to me to see just how much we have in common. Seriously. The weird rules and extreme repercussions for disobeying said rules. I came across this comedy bit on youtube from a former JW and I found that we have a LOT in common with them. Obviously not the beliefs but the way we go about living our lives while in a

I'm sick of hearing this type of rhetoric from people who seem to think that social security is an entitlement program and not something they've paid into for their whole lives. Talk about a false narrative...

This is an excellent question and one that I used to ask myself often when going over material of this sort. I was born and raised as a mormon and went on a 2-year mission, married in the Temple and all of that. When I realized that mormonism was not true it still took me several years to figure out how I felt about the book of mormon. When I first got out of the cult I felt that the book of

I was born-in-the-cult and was raised as a mormon. I went on a 2-year mission for the cult and was a true believer for 32 years. I have been out for a couple of decades now. I'm telling you my history so you will understand where I am coming from. In my experience, ANY marriage outside of 1 man/1 woman is strictly forbidden in the modern mormon church. No gay marriage and certainly no op

I agree with everything you said. It makes sense to slowly abandon the BOM. I suspect over time it will turn into something like the Jewish Midrash - wise writings that are not to be taken as total cannon. Somewhere in the middle of cannon and apocryphal writings. It will be there for many decades but it will have less and less meaning in the future. Probably the same with the Pearl of Great

My wife and I enjoy co-operative board games as we are both competitive and don't like playing against each other. One of our favorite games is called "Pandemic". Timley, I know. It is tough to beat but very fun and rewarding. We also like most of the "Cthulu" games like "Arkham Horror" and the like. As far as competitive games we like the "Red Dragon

One of my favorite memories was at a protest of prop 8 outside the Oakland Temple. We chanted "Pay Lay Ale - Discrimination will fail!" Super fun.

There is no "soul" in a human. We are all just clever machines. We THINK we have souls but really we are a collection of neurons and cells. We do have the "spark of life" but so does everything living on this planet. When we die so does our "spark". Whatever we thought of as our soul goes too. Evolution will bring about a new series of lifeforms that we

I seem to hear this phrase a lot and it makes me a little angry inside when I do. To me, when someone says they are blessed what they are really saying is "god likes me a little more than he likes you". Another way to put it is "I have a better relationship with god than you because you are not as good as me". ...Something like that. Does this phrase bother a

I have been tracking the total deaths in the U.S. and a few days ago the numbers shifted. CNN and the CDC don't correlate. Not sure what is happening there but it appears that the numbers we are getting are not entirely accurate. Just my 2 cents.

I once calculated the odds of mormonism being true and I came up with the comparison of buying winning lottery tickets. The odds of mormonism being true would be like buying a lottery ticket every week, week after week, and winning the lottery for 35 weeks-in-a-row. Something like that. I'm not saying it is impossible, I'm saying it is highly improbable.

The Logo is stupid. They think that placing an image of Jesus (Scandinavian Jesus) in their logo will make them appear more Christian. Like "the people who say we are not Christian will see that we are truly Christian enough to put an image of Christ in our logo!". The do not understand that the rest of the world sees them as a cult. Much like they veiw the Scientologists. Putt

I remember those meetings as a kid. They truly sucked. What i remember most from that time was the crazy amount of vibrato that ALL of the elderly women who sang felt like they needed to add in order to sound good. It was like they were trying to sing to sheep. I guess they actually were.

I worry that this is "helicopter money" designed to stimulate an economy that is in the beginning of a depression. I worry that it will lead to price inflation and with the unemployment rate going up it will likely be stagflation. I hope I'm wrong. I really do.

Even as a TBM I hated Sac Mtg. The whole thing was a total bore. Random people rambling on about nothing, Babies constantly crying, and the horrible singing at least 3 times per meeting. It all sucked and I remember always casually looking at the clock in the rear of the building to see how much time was left before we could leave. I felt like attending services was something I had to do

I don't recall ever being present for a priesthood blessing that actually worked either. It seems obvious looking back, but the thought of the priesthood being fake never really dawned on me for many years.

With this pandemic affecting everyone on the planet, there is a possibility that the TBMs might start to wake up. I wonder if they will realize that they don't need the church anymore. For example, do they NEED to go to church on Sunday? I remember as a TBM those Sundays when I couldn't go to services for some reason. I tried to act like I missed church but deep down I was glad for the brea
