I'm still attending for a variety of reasons, but here goes. I've got the best DW on the planet. I told her I wouldn't be attending the temple anymore because its all about polygamy. I didn't want to share her with anyone. She said OK followed by an outpouring of love and affection. No more guilt about not doing enough at church. Those guys have no mystical powers over me. If someone asks m

It worked for me. I discovered RfM in late 2008 by way of the Salamander Society. I lurked at RfM for a few months until I found out that I knew one of the posters. Since then, I posted a couple of things, told my bishop what he can put his temple and quit wearing garmies. For a lot of reasons I'm staying in, but this board continues to be my support group. Thanks y'all.

I haven't read anything but found this once upon a time. Its kind of random, but contains some good info. http://swedenborg.newearth.org/hh/hh05.html Where did Joseph Smith get his ideas for the Mormon concept of heaven? "At its worst, heaven can be an 'effective tool for manipulation,' says Paul Knitter, emeritus professor of theology at Xavier University in Cincinnati. "If

Take em' over to Burning Man and follow Melissa's suggestions. You'll be the life of the party.

This is my question too. Why is a high priest, presumably age 45 plus, still working at McDonalds? "My dream came true, I finally have a job where I can wear a paper hat!" This guy would be very low on my list of people to worry about.

1091. FYI
We heard following bullet-points yesterday from an emeritus GA: The new CHI has been a ten-year work in proocess. BKP is the committe chairman in charge of the CHI. Dallin Oaks is pretty much the author of the new handbook. Those are the interesting tid-bits from his observations on the new edition of the CHI.

I hear the new handbook is coming out tomorrow at a world-wide training meeting. You have to turn in the old CHI to get the new one.

In descending order: Prop 8 Polygamy Polygamy in the temple Priesthood - I don't want to belong to any group that would have me as a member. BOM - I was skeptical even at my most TBMness First Vision - Okay, if you say so.

Their rules said either dinner appointment or teaching appointment in members homes. Not hangin' watchin' TV. So they tweaked the rule by sitting on the porch.

The missionaries lived in the apartment next to us in 1984. When the Olympics came on TV they came over to watch. Their rules wouldn't let them come inside to watch tv so we set them up on the porch with chairs, soda, chips and they watched through the open door. They had to scatter a couple times when the DL came over, but otherwise they watched the whole two weeks.

This is not exactly what you are looking for, but here goes. I do handy-man work for a divorced woman and her high school age kids. After many years of conversations while working around the house, she learned that I was pretty much a card-carrying conservative; I learned she was a card-carrying liberal. We have had some very lively conversations. Anyway, it always has been and continues to

They happen every day. I ran into a sister from our ward in the local Quickie-Mart. We were both buying our non-WoW compliant contraband. There was eye contact but no recognition as we formed a secret combination.

We live a block from the Pacific Ocean. So we're concentrating on water production. Solar stills, salt water filters, etc. I want to reach the point where people will bring me cheeseburgers for a gallon of my water.

We didn't do any of it. None of us were interested enough to maintain all of the daily stuff for more than a week. We finally gave up trying and the stress level in the house plummeted.

This part too. "In our day the dreadful influence of pornography is like unto a plague sweeping across the world, infecting one here and one there, relentlessly trying to invade every home, most frequently through the husband and father." Now kids are going to be looking at Dad wondering if he really is a pervert. That kind of statement might be acceptable in a PH meeting with
