It's inappropriate and heartless to flame those who are painfully down and out. Thanks to those who understand this and to those who don't? They're probably a lost cause.

Accuse someone of being anti-Semitic and they'll say it isn't so which does not mean that's what they are actually anti-Semetic. These kinds of unsubstantiated accusations don't prove a thing except that the accuser might be wrong, rude, or simply biased. Someone here accused me of several ugly terms the other day, racist and a couple of the phobic insults that are sometimes hurled with zer

Perhaps it would be a good idea to watch and read the board for a few weeks before making assumptions based on partial information. It's like assuming you know the whole situation of a family from hearing bits and pieces of their dinner conversation at the local diner. We've had very helpful and well informed posters join the conversation here because they read the information on the main pag

I didn't know they'd wear out when I got my donated corneas. The doctor said they have aged to be equal to about 60 years and some corneas do fine at that point while others might not. He thinks mine are fine for now. Yesterday, I asked the orthopedic surgeon how long fake hips last which is about 20 years, more or less. I said I'll hop for forever. My endocrinologist has had three hip repl

When I was there, I was surprised to learn that non-church going taxpayers financially support a dominant religion.

I was sick with a bad stomach infection seven months ago which put me off my game and resulted in a nasty fall which broke a hip and a finger. All of that is finally behind me. DH and I opened our best bottle of wine to celebrate last night. Please keep your dishwasher door closed to avoid this common accident. And also, please remember to be supportive of those who are ill and injured.

I think it would be the same for priests. They are free to quit and move on with their lives.

It's tricky at best. Normal churches can deal with it, but not cult like organizations which are all or nothing.

She is the one who had to go. You were the one in charge. No person has a right to push their way into your home against your objections. They are dead wrong if they do this. Any court or reasonable law enforcement person would send them packing. Being associated with a church is not a reason to invade a private home or family.

It's the individual who says when they are no longer in an organization. Organizations don't have a right to hold anyone captive after they say they're no longer willing to comply. The law states that a church must provide a reasonable resignation course of action. The law does not say that this must be the only way to quit a church.

A day at a time or less if necessary. Hope the doctors, nurses and people in your life love and support you as you deserve. I did beat breast cancer and know a bit about it. Mine was stage 2. So you deserve twice the love and care. My thoughts are with you.

They did it because DH told them to leave our yard and the private street we own and to never come back. Mormons might think they were justified. But actually mormons have been told for decades to stay away and there's a police order to that affect on file at the department, the bishop's office, the SP, and the MP. But mormons feel entitled which isn't my problem.

Many women take drugs to eliminate estrogen. Even women who are menopausal continue to produce lowered levels of estrogen throughout the rest of their lives. If they've been treated for cancer, they take drugs to lower estrogen which lowers risk of contracting new cancers. Delaying menopause would help some health problems but would intensify others. It would certainly be a problem for any

Not our problem. Let them fret and let them punch a few computer keys if necessary some day if someone turns in a resignation for the bishop. If he's still interested in being a member, he'll attend meetings and donate to the building fund unlike those who actually resign.

As soon as a mormon leader knows someone has left and they no longer contribute or participate it means that they're gone. Any other conclusion is stupid. Are mormons admitting that fact?

They're likely to think you're interested in being reactivated. If they give you invites or put on pressure, just shrug and tell them, "I'm here for my niece." Then change the subject or walk away.

A person's religious background is their own business unless they choose to share. If talking about it helps your recovery, go for it. "I was mormon but not since I figured out it was a false and abusive cult. I got smart and left. If you have questions, I'd be glad to answer them." Actually, however you choose to answer is fine. But it isn't a good idea to talk about religion at

"Some people use these for coffee. You must never do that. I'll let you keep it in your play kitchen, but you must say it's for hot chocolate or herb tea. Okay?"
