Robert Millet explains is beautifully: If asked a direct question, don't answer it--answer a different question instead that you'd rather answer. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1kt8h_robert-millet-short-version_news So Mormons will NOT give you a straight answer when asked about Mormonism. If you want to know about Mormonism DON'T ask a Mormon.

The three saber-tooth tiger cubs were released into the wilderness of Southern Utah. On Sept. 11, 1852 they, crazed with hunger, killed 120 members of the Fancher wagon train.

Someone posted it here, I can't remember who but he said it was his favorite question to ask the missionaries: "When Brigham Young had the Adam-God doctrine made part of the Endowment, was he just speaking as a man?"

If Mormons are "misunderstood" it's because Mormons have been putting put disinformation for over a century. During the polygamy era lying became a way of life. Since federal officers were looking to catch polygamists you didn't tell strangers, or even people you knew but not well, such things as who your parents were, where you lived etc. One LDS leader lamented that the Churc

The difference with the Mormons is that they DO want you around. They want you around so they can look down their noses at you with that big smile that says, "we still love you in spite of the horrendous, sinful things you have done--now dedicate your life to us as restitution." I think what should happen is the "court of love" should mandate that the sinner sit at the ent

I recently read "The Mormon Murders" for the first time. I kept a running tally: I had personally spoken with 10 people mentioned in the book. BTW, it's a great read.

The word "Egyptus," which appears in the first chapter of the BOA is a Greek word. It was created by Greek travelers and historians who visited Egypt and reported back. On main center in Egypt back then was Memphis, which was the main center of the Ptah cult. It was known as the Home of the soul of Ptah. In ancient Egyptian that comes out as Het Ka Ptah. Just as the Greeks Hellen

This brings up an interesting point. How the BOM "translation" is so close in so many ways to the KJV translation. I recall as a teenager looking at the 2nd Nephi Isaiah passages next to the KJV Isaiah passages. I was stunned at how they were verbatim identical. I knew that two different translators would not be that close. Specially since the BOM version is a translation into Engl

It's worse than that. Hugh Nibley, knowing the evidence was totally against JS said "forget the translation process; look at the text itself." Then he proceeded to find a bunch of tenuous "parallels" between the BOA and ANYTHING ancient. OK, let's forget the translation fiasco and look at the text itself. Note the proper name "Egyptus" in chapter 1. This

You can't join by letter. If I decided to "resign" my "less active" neighbor I could write a resignation letter and sign his name to it. Would the Bishop be justified in wanting to check that he really wrote the letter? Or should he just remove my neighbor from the membership rolls? Let's send a resignation letter to Tommy Monson's bishop and sign "Thomas S. Monso

My atheist neighbor and I argue all the time. He claims that the God I don't believe in is the wrong God to not believe in. He says that it's important which God you don't believe in.

For over a century the Mormon Church officially denied full participation to people of Black African lineage. For over a century the Mormon Church said that this was God's will. For over a century the Mormon Church officially taught that people of Black African lineage were cursed by God and that their second-class status in Mormonism was right and correct. In 1978 they changed their practic

You agreed to let your husband give you a PB. You didn't agree to have someone else join in. Can you have a list of allowed visitors at the hospital? Put names of friends that you KNOW and ask that others not be allowed in. Is that possible?

The ONLY reason he would need to meet with you is to make sure the letter came from you. All you have to tell him is that, yes you wrote the letter. To any other questions he asks be a broken record and say, "that's personal." Let him know that your life, your motivations, your decisions, your reasons are none of his business. That, more than anything else, goes against the Mormon

The ONLY people on my friend's list are my children, their spouses and my grandchildren and one nephew who does NOT get along with his TBM dad and who I have "adopted." It works great. I have had friend requests from people I know who have found me via my email address. I tell then why I do not add them. I think facebook is great t

When kid is asked to go in for a "worthiness" interview with the Bishop have the kid pull out a small recorder and place it on the desk and hit "record." Tell the Bishop that you will be recording the interview. When the bishop says (and he WILL) that you can't record it, look shocked and say, "what are you going to do or say that you are afraid of having recorded?"

No this is not a HATE website. This is not about Non-Mormons hating Mormons. This is about Mormons and former Mormons trying to deal with the cult and what it did to their family relationships and their heads. "critical" does not equal "hate."

This is classic TBM approach to discussing someone's "problems" with the cult. Supposedly he's discussing YOUR problems, but when you point out your problems all he does is show you HIS ways of rationalizing things to HIS satisfaction. TBMs do this. They tell you how THEY are not affected by the clear and compelling evidence as if that somehow says anything other than their own min
