1. Rum and Coke is a good starter drink. Start out with 3/4 Coke and 1/4 rum or 4/5 Coke and 1/5 rum. Get a better rum like Captain Morgan's. In fact in a bar this would be "Capt'n and Coke" 2. A starter beer.... Thats very personal opinion. I like Shock Top, and Red Trolly. Now that I like beer, I even drink Miller or Bud, but not when I was new. Also if you get drunk from li

in the Philippines we were really far out in the middle of no where. We had visited a member, left and were walking done the "road" when the member came running up to us. Someone in her family was was about to die and wanted a blessing. My Philippino companion froze and wouldn't do it. I did it mostly speaking English. This lady looked older than dirt, weighed under 100lbs, was i

I could be wrong but, in the very least, it is unusual. "You are they."???? I was always afraid that I WOULD be called to leadership someday in the future. I did not want to be anything like the men I saw in the church. I think anathema is right though, most of the men aspire to be leaders. All these little robots need to do is look at the steady DECLINE in the number of stak

He should have chosen his son and moved out when you got mad about the rules. His kid was a teenager who broke the rules??? OMG I bet that never happened before. If he has a house with expenses and child support and all those extra expenses he very well could be strapped. Deal with it, or get rid of him.

So, the guy pays for the vacation? A certain behavior is expected after the vacation is payed for? Seems fair to me. Its controlling and possessive. If a 50 yr old allows them self to be manipulated like that then they deserve it. I really don't think it has much to with the priesthood. I wasn't there in the situation though.

In your next lecture you should mention that the behavior of whispering and giggling is really rude to yourself and to other students. I was in a large lecture class and several classmates would talk the whole time. I have a hard time paying attention as it is. After class one day I asked the professor to say something in general to the class. Although she was reluctant, she did so. It did

Their website says "People fly in from N.Y......to do business with us." I call B.S. I looked at the clothing brands they offer. VERY upscale but certainly nothing you can't buy in New York City.

The two big stores are Macy's and Nordstrom's. Nordstrom's is obviously upscale, but Macy's is just barely there. I would think that the other stores have already been brought on by now. If they are so proud of all these upscale shops why don't they release a list of them. Are there already some of these kinds of stores in SLC? Will they be brand new there? I do not believe they will have a

officials do not understand the way laws are made, or the way minorities are to be treated. These policies are set out in the US Constitution and most like most state constitutions. "The will of the people" doesn't matter, if the will of said people is against the laws of the land. Oh well, the CA prop. 8 will eventually make it to the Supreme Court. The decision will be ha

both never mo's. I think those well paying jobs are few and far between. The very highly paid oil company employee's drive the average wage up. When I was a kid up there with 4 siblings we had a 2500 sq.ft. house. In the dead of winter it was close to being too small. The bigger houses needed for the larger mormon herds would dig into those higher salaries quickly.

If you think prayer helps you, and you want to pray I support you. I wish something so simple could help me in times of need. Humans accept common definitions. It is part of language. Of the several dictionaries I looked at, ALL of them mentioned god when speaking about prayer. Again, if you pray you are not an atheist. If you are an atheist and you think that by asking your christian f

November, I think, was the month they were to hand down the decision. I doubt very much that any one in the U.S. is going to be able to miss the announcement once it happens.

Anyone can and should feel comfortable to ask for support. If a person was on the web asking for opinions then they should expect a wide range of opinions. Disagreeing is not "kicking while down." Hard line definitions help us lead less confusing lives. ANYONE can ask for prayers, I just can't see how they can at the same time say they don't believe in the entity the prayer

GREY isn't that a label? There are definitions that are widely accepted. You don't have to accept them for yourself. If someone told me they were a vegetarian I would assume they ate milk and eggs. If they said they were a vegan I'd assume they didn't If someone says they are atheist I assume they don't pray.

Maybe meditation is a better word? I am not trying to be argumentative, but I just think that either you do not fit the traditional "Webster's Dictionary" definition of atheist or you are not praying. I don't think anyone is going to deny someone comfort if the meditation or prayer comforts the person who is doing it. Additionally it has nothing to do with rights, of COURSE som

This is not the first time this has been discussed on this board. Overall effeminate men are not uncommon in the church.

I guess if it was there is not much you can say. If you combine your income then she has a lot of explaining to do. I am not married, it seems that married folk look past a lot of these things. I'd find that very hard to do. A lie is lie is a lie when it comes to the people we are supposed to trust more than anyone else. It's your money, she should have to pay you back.

you are not atheist. If you tell someone that you are atheist and then ask them to pray for then they think that you really DO believe.

the strongest feelings of the holy ghost ever had to do with service related things. I have had these feelings also while looking at art and even while in a classroom learning some really interesting stuff. Most recently I had these feelings while listening to Jon Stewart at his rally.

There is a "Chinese Evangelical" church in my neighborhood. I pass it when getting on the freeway. Not sure what they teach but I know they go to church services on Sunday. Tonight I was driving by at 7:40. The parking lot was full. There were rows and rows of tables of food, games, and many many costumes. How exactly is a bunch of people who love each other and share cherishe

You can worship however you see fit. You can go to most churches, not mormon, and accept the things you like and leave the things you don't.
