Thanks...It's become par for the course and my siblings are all klutzy as well. If I don't break a bone or get a concussion, it's not too big of a deal, but I have to be practical about taking care of the injuries regardless of how mild!

I planned on going swimming today but I fell with my bicycle (stopped nonetheless because yes, I am that talented) and scraped up my knee pretty good and it needs to heal a little bit. So I'm catching up on housecleaning that I've been neglecting and cooking a whole chicken in a crockpot for the first time. I'll probably go for another bike ride later because I just don't learn my lessons. Later

I listened to the NPR story with Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon relate their love story and it was fascinating, sad, disturbing, and beautiful. I really want to see this movie!

I love this! I wanted to foster kittens before my second kitty wandered into my life 3 years ago, but I have realized I get attached and want to keep them all. I think 3 rescue kitties is the limit (for now).

Have you read H.D.'s "Eurydice?" Fascinating poem from Eurydice's point of view and her anger at Orpheus trying to pull her from the underworld and making her remember all she forgot when she drank from Lethe.

Around 7-8 years ago, I realized I was an atheist. I never thought it would end up that way because I thought for the longest time paganism was my path, but that's where I am. If you were a strong believer in something "bigger" than you, maybe it's harder to admit and accept. I don't go around screaming, "I'm an atheist!" but if it comes up I don't deny it either. I think

This is from my APA paper on cults and conformity: " It’s a human flaw to regard that one is not susceptible to the influence of conformity and is strong-willed enough to resist going along with the crowd. Studies, however, show that conformity and the power of a situation subtly affect people on a deeper level than they prefer to believe (Aronson, E. et al. 2013.) "Conformity

I've wanted to live by a cemetery for awhile now because I figured the residents would be the best neighbors, but you've given me reason for pause. :)

What is this deviance of sexual nature that's being promoted and anti-white sentiments being promoted in universities and elementary schools?

I'm glad you're taking advantage of the counseling the school offers. I think it's really crappy that you have siblings blaming you for things, but death can bring out some real nastiness in the family. Keep on track, like others have said, you are capable.

Because there isn't any evidence of the crops or animals mentioned in the BoM pre-Columbus? Not exactly advanced agricultural history.

@cutekitty: There are so many hallucinogenic and psychotropic plants out there, you wouldn't believe it. The mold that grows on rye is a psychotropic and thought to be behind the Salem witch hysteria for example. There are anthropologists and social scientists who think religion has its roots in our ancestors accidentally ingesting psychotropic substances and "seeing god". Our minds can

There is something deeply insidious about that, rewriting the history or just flat-out scratching it out.

Never touch furry caterpillars or ones that look especially pretty. Nature is beautiful, but deadly, painful, cruel, and will embarrass you when you don't respect her. I cannot imagine why a person would put a caterpillar on their lips, but I used to eat ants as a little girl, so who am I to judge?

I'm from CO and I am less afraid of bears, cougars, raccoons, snakes, and coyotes than these creepy-crawlies (I grew up at the foot of the mountains). Spiders don't bother me too much these days as long as they're not black widows or other venomous ones. Centipede species around here can bite and use their claws to inject venom, it's horrifying! I live right next door to CO, though, in a slightly

Or just feel free to relay any bites or stings from any venomous creatures. Because I'm an insomniac, I tend to wake up at certain times of the night/morning and lately it's 4 AM, almost right on the nose. I got up to do something, walked back in the bedroom and saw my Maine Coon mix with something in her jaws. She went right by the bed, released it, and it was a big ass centipede. It scurried

No, but it's only 93 here in my part of the Corners. We had our heat advisory in June, which is typical for a week or so. If I wasn't so banged up from my disagreement with the Animas River rocks and not sleep deprived, I would be swimming right now.

azsteve's fear is rooted in the weird fear of not understanding how menstruation works. There are ignoramuses (ignorami?) that believe women can just hold the fluid until the next bathroom break or the tampon goes in the anus or something else asinine that has nothing to do with modern sensibilities.

The ones that are educated about how menstrual cycles work? Seriously, even many women don't understand how menstruation or menarche works because of lack of education. If a pair of fathers sat down and studied and asked women how menstruation works, how would it make them less qualified? Do, YOU, azsteve, understand how menstruation works? How do single dads with daughters explain menstruatio

:D That is funny and so typical of kids to say. Notice how the legend of Pandora, the woman is also to blame for all the evil in the world and she was created by the gods, infused with various gifts, the one getting her in trouble being her insatiable curiosity from Hermes (if I remember correctly) in other versions.

From your CBS source: "Regnerus was upfront about the funding from conservative groups, and said he pledged to groups involved that he would report whatever the data found, regardless of which way it leaned. What's more, he says some of the criticisms are valid and plausible." "Regnerus said it's entirely possible that instability in the household led to some of the reported
