I have major depression and generalized anxiety. The winter hasn't typically bothered me. I'd like cold and wither in the heat. But this year has been some kind of fresh hell. Maybe it's lack of sunlight.Maybe it's my psycho family. I prefer to just blame the leading republican candidate.

I don't know if this was the case for anyone else. I had a pretty messed up family, including an alcoholic father that sucked the oxygen out of everything. Part of my decision to join TSCC was to in part, get away from my family. I thought that since mormons don't drink, I wouldn't find men like my father. Wrong. They just didn't drink, but behaviors could be the same. I had several convert frien

Morgbots have also been taught to use manipulative techniques. This is great evidence of that. If your own soul's future doesn't grab you, they roll out Stan, followed up by you've let the side down. I've found that if I say something like, "I appreciate your concern for my wellbeing. I do not, however believe what you believe."

I know you feel responsible, but consider that it's not yours alone. People need to agree to be baptized. I did it as a convert. I don't blame my mishies, especially since they were BIC and it's all they've ever known. And also consider that your intentions were good. At the time, you really believed you were helping them.

My feisty, almost 80 YO, atheist mom lives with me. The other day, some sad sister mishies showed up at the door, seeking to save me from outer darkness. I was not home. Boy were they surprised when the sweet little old lady told them to go effin sell crazy someplace else. Some other colorful language was also hurled at them, and they literally ran back to their ford focus.I wish I had a secret

Great piece of writing! Takes me back to the MTC, particularly the flatulence. I blame the low quality MTC food. I blame basic 19 YO boy hormones for the boners. Poor young woman. Could have been me (23 at the MTC) strictly with respect to age, (and I by no means wish to imply that I am or was the hot girl). I completely understand why she would be embarrassed and humiliated. I just hope today sh

I always thought the point is that the morgbot magical 15 are propping up an old dude with memory issues as if he has god on speed dial. It's not personal - it's more of an indictment of organization. Oh and BTW - if god calls and someone else answers, he hangs up. He's such a prankster.

Love it. Just a note - the site creators very specifically say that they don't want to be called anti-mormon, but pro-mormons. They want to set the record straight and tell the same kind of truth that you read here. Awesome. Veramente splendido!

;Sorry, I am looking at this the way my doctors and therapists do. You may have had situational depression, but I have major depression. It does not get cured. My brain is defective.

This board should be a safe place to debate, disagree, and disavow TSCC. There have been a lot of O/T threads, often not even labeled so, that I find to be counter productive, and they can really hurt. The recent thread about choosing to be happy is one I will cite. What does it have to do with recovery? As stated, not a stinking thing. Yet what happens in a thread like that? People, well mea

I am so sick of people saying they have sometimes dealt with depression. Get over it. Try living your life with it sitting on you like a semi, and then tell me to choose to be happy. Depression isn't about happy or unhappy. It's about functioning or not functioning. It's about getting out of bed when your brain wants you to give up. It's like saying to a deaf person that hearing is a choice. Enou

In passing, perhaps. But only to remind the congregation how much they suck, and how they had to be atoned for.

If it's depression getting to you, it's an illness. Your teacher should work with you. Sorry you are going through this.

A (very nice and non judgemental) LDS friend on FB shared Uchtdorf's recent post about the new Tijuana, MX temple. He is all decked out in a white suit, and the Mrs. is not. He looks like he believes he's a rock star. Nauseating.

So true. It's been a horribly rough year for me, and not getting better soon. I usually manage my depression and anxiety, but the holidays can add that extra push that puts me pretty close to the edge. Wondering if it would help to take a Facebook fast until January!

Just remember that any extreme acts, like releasing a video on the internet, can damage someone's reputation for important things like college admissions, finding jobs, etc. I like the idea of just saying that I don't believe this and I want to go home. In no way will it be easy.

If I suspend disbelief for a moment and consider an eternity of celestial glory as defined by TSCC, I have to respond "no thank you."

There was the famous infant orphan study in France a few hundred years ago. Half the babies only had contact with people to meet their basic needs. Half were held and spoken to. The ignored withered. It's an awful control mechanism. Recognize it for what it is. Won't make it less painful, but being able to label the behavior helps you understand that it is about her, not you.

TSCC takes the prosperity gospel to a twisted extreme. The most admired family in my ward was headed up by a senior executive for a large corporation. Their daughters were the most admired. Everyone sought their company. Exactly the kind of people that Jesus would have hung out with. You know.

There's no better way to describe this situation than to say it sucks. I am so sorry. I have no words of wisdom other than to tell everyone you care about that you love them, often, and breathe.

Some more moderate morgbots trying to put some perspective on this gay parents thing, being viciously attacked by the faithful. If it weren't so maddening it would be entertaining. Oh, and comments that those who are resigning in droves were already apostates, just taking advantage of the situation (btw - how is any of this an advantage?). What are y'all hearing and seeing?
