When I was a Mo, I recognized the interior pillars of the Las Vegas temple were painted to look like marble. It was obvious from across the room, as if they didn't even try to make them look real. LDS temples are cheap knock-offs of religious buildings.

BYU Boner Wrote: "I hope Moore is fully and impartiality investigated. If charges are warranted, they should be filed immediately." Unfortunately, Boner, the statute of limitations expired decades ago. There will not likely be an investigation and, certainly, no charges filed. Therefore, the case is left to the court of public opinion.

OP, Read this post from Godless in Dixie. It just may help you understand how your wife is feeling about your apostasy. http://www.patheos.com/blogs/godlessindixie/2017/09/29/the-sociology-of-belief/ People leaving Christianity deal with the same problems we Ex-Mos deal with. I hope this gives you some insight into what you are and will face with her.

They want you to go to the temple and in order to do that, you must pay your tithing. It's another fishing expedition in hoping you'll want that "coveted" TR to suck you back in.

Nope. I read her article. She didn't resign; she has just gone inactive. Had she resigned, would her female Mo neighbors left gifts on her front step? I think not.

Babylon-etc., "Why did the chapel feel special? Was it all in my head? The temple too. I could feel a shift in the energy when stepping into temple grounds" In my opinion, the reason was our expectations of what we thought we would receive upon entering those buildings. The same with all the rest of the Mo activities.

"To God each good work will be known." The above ending to verse 2 was changed for the 1884 edition of the hymnal. It used to be something to the effect: "The world has no need for a drone." Sorry, but I don't have a copy of the prior hymn book. I think they didn't like the word "drone" and likely wanted God to be mentioned somewhere.

OK, Everyone! Consider this from above: "In the spirit world our spirits will have the same form as when we lived on the earth with bodies of flesh and bones. We will look as we do here." So, to me that means, since most humans die in their old age, the spirit world is inhabited by old, decrepit, wrinkled spirits, with relatively few younger adults and children. As JS died as a y

CaramelDreams, is this move to be achieved with or without the boyfriend? That makes a big, important difference.

Yes, you have invested both time, effort, and money in this BF and his church and, also yes, that is all like water under the brid

Ben, Your wife should be advised that there are many, many fewer worthy single and divorced priesthood holders than single and divorced sisters available for marriage. If she truly considers divorce, she more than likely will remain single the rest of her life. If she believes she can find another Mo-husband better than you, she will find herself in a contest against other single women in

While moving out of the boundaries of the ward is nice, the wife needs to get another, preferably non-Mormon, therapist. If her current therapist's practice covers several local wards and/or stakes, just moving across ward boundaries may not be sufficient. Lost1982, your wife needs to be exposed to more non-Mormon influences to offer her other perspectives, therefore, a different therapis

And, did she indeed find a replacement "single, normal, worthy" priesthood holder? I would bet not. They're unicorns.

On the "Happiness Seekers" website, someone who identified himself as Jeff left a very thoughtful comment explaining and defending why there are church members who leave TSCC that do not match up with the shallow reasons "DustinandBrittney" blogged about. Is there someone on this thread who goes by Jeff on blog comments?

Here's some history about most of the sects that split off the original Latter-day Saint movement. It's very illuminating. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_sects_in_the_Latter_Day_Saint_movement

BTW, Adam asked Lucifer the apron question, as Adam didn't know who Lucifer was and what he was about. Elohim, on the other hand, knew exactly who Lucifer was.

Does your friend work, is she retired, or is she on disability? I ask because, if she has a so-called Cadillac health plan and is paying for it out of her own pocket, she needs to find out if, depending upon her income, she is eligible for a healthcare plan (there are often several plans to choose from) through the Affordable Care Act. Before being promoted to Medicare because of my age, I g

Our Ex-Mo Meet-up group meets occasionally at the local LGBT center. The building includes a unisex restroom where the doors to each stall reach completely from the floor to the wall above the door, so there is no open area to the hallway running between the two facing rows of stalls. Each door can be locked from the inside and clouded glass in each stall door so it's easily apparent whether th

Google Ronald Poelman or check him out on Wikipedia. He gave a talk in General Conference that some apostles objected to some of what he spoke about. The talk was re-written and then re-recorded on video to make it look as if it had been given during Conference. The name of his talk? "The Gospel and the Church". Poelman distinguished the difference between them in his original talk
