Ah, Onendagus! CES in Vegas is the Consumer Electronics Show. It's huge, at least it was back when I went for several years while married. ALL KINDS of electronic stuff from automobile sound systems, the latest in computer hardware, software and games, accessories and peripheries, and, yes, Adult video stuff. Years ago, there were adult sex-type video games. They probably still have 'em,

I like the man's singing voice. He interprets the song quite well. I have trouble looking at the metal in his face, though. Maybe it's because I'm an old lady and didn't grow up with that.

If you like, you may frame that "You're Out!" letter and hang it on the wall to show intruding busybodies that they no longer have any authority over you. Cool, ain't it? Congratulations!

I, also, was in a Dollar Tree today and noticed that they were well-supplied with many brightly-colored storage containers, both square- and oval-shaped. I think you could purchase the whole rainbow in containers. BTW, Don, what is the brand on those Frito-replicants?

Elder Old Dog, I remember clothes mangles. My mom received a mangle when I was in high school during the '60s. Someone in the neighborhood gave it to her and she was soooo excited. She ironed mostly flat clothes on it but she explained that she had used one as a girl and actually pressed shirts on it!

Heck, if TSCC only gave me stock or whatever investors in private equity firms hold in return for the tithing I paid prior to my resignation, I'd take that. The church is nothing more than an international real estate investment company masquerading as a church.

If you closely scrutinize the photos of garments on the Mormon Secrets website, you'll notice that their for-sale products are a little different, especially the female top. Authorized garment patterns don't have princess seams. Check it out.

Instead of making statements about how the church ain't true, ask questions about an aspect or two that you've learned about and encourage her to research the subject in order to prove you right or wrong.

Check out Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_sects_in_the_Latter_Day_Saint_movement Go down the list of Mormon splinter groups and check out the dates they were created. Many were formed during the late 1900s thru the 2000s. Who's to say that any current LDS members, particularly in Utah, won't splinter off and form other mormon-based religious sect. There's a long and note

I "third" the idea that she has a form of dementia. From what Heretic 2 describes, she has problems with her short-term memory which is typical with dementia.

It's on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_sects_in_the_Latter_Day_Saint_movement And Alice Cooper was born into the Bickertonites, not the Strangites.

I don't live in the Moridor, but in checking out the link of eleven soda shops in Utah, I believe it has something to do with the coffee culture (Starbucks and its competitors). Coffee being off-limits and non-Mos waiting in the drive-thru of Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Mormons don't want to be left out so are willing to pay $5 for a fancy sweetened drink. It's all about appearances. Too bad they

Uhhhhh . . . your parents, grandparents, etc. are your ancestors. Your children, grandchildren, etc. are your decendants.

Been reading today "Quest for the Gold Plates", by Stan Larson, for our Ex-Mo book club. Fascinating story of Thomas Stuart Ferguson, the guy who spearheaded the search for archeological proof of the Book of Mormon. Boy, was he surprised!

I'm following up on what indoctrinatedsincebirth said about the differences between male and female church members. About the men who remain within the church: are they remaining because many of them are generally the type who are looking forward to climbing the eclesiastical ladder, so to speak? Do many of them tend to love having authority? I speculate that this is why the priesthood and th

Gots the DVD which includes deleted scenes. The scene shot in a Deseret Industries where Napoleon discovers the suit he wears to the prom is especially Mormon. See if you can find the deleted scenes. Love this movie. But I did not live in the Morridor or surrounding environs.

Holy, Effing, Cow! That article is so shallow! The Only Advice that I can see in the article is to Continue Attending Church and repent of your short-comings. The writing was so dumbed down that I got the feeling that it was written for a sixth-grade reading level.

1. Never, never, NEVER argue with a person with dementia or Alzheimer's. Trying to prove that you are right and the sufferer wrong is a useless endeavor. Arguing only increases the sufferer's agitation which is NEVER a good thing. 2. Never, never, NEVER take personally what a person suffering from delusions or hallucinations resulting from Alzheimer's or dementia says or does. The sufferer i

Is this the building you're referring to? https://ldsarchitecture.wordpress.com/category/meetinghouses/united-states/california/maywood-ward/ It looks beautiful. There is a guy who purchased a closed LDS chapel in Provo and turned it into exclusive apartments. I bet that Maywood Chapel could have the same thing done to it. Of course, it would depend on the neighborhood, too.

This is the way kidney stones were described to me: Put your palms together and spread your fingers. Put each finger of one hand between each finger of your other hand in various directions. What you have is a rough example of a kidney stone. Kidney stones tend to have a rough, scratchy surface. They grab and scrape the tube between the kidney and the bladder. It's especially bad when the

Fasting and bearing a "testimony" is nothing more than a form of mass hypnotism. It has been, and continues to be, used as a means of control. Observe the behavior of thousands of German citizens during Adolf Hitler's rally speaches in Leni Riefenstahl's infamous documentary, "Triumph of the Will". Mormon church meetings are simply thousands of smaller, milder versions of
