I agree with you here and the reason we are out with our kids. I refuse to allow my kids to live with the same guilt and repression we do. I already see a great change in my oldest determining what she likes and doesn't. It's nice to see. I never had any options.

Scruples-That is crazy crap! Wow. So, your husband is still active and believing? I hear you and I wish too that everyone would have a great level of tolerance and understand that everyone is at different places in leaving and recovery. Some have dealt with it for years and years and some just days. I think it's okay to ask questions and get honest answers too.

I don't know what happened. However, I understand trying not to offend. I tend to do it too and I feel like I can't share my opinion here without pissing someone off. I hear you. Good luck and I hope that those you think you hurt will forgive.

Couldn't of said it better! Add TBM family members that can't see past their own nose!

Not to mention the leaders. Most of the time they don't want a scout calling and it gets done half assed. The men who really want the callings seem to rarely get it. It's an issue in the lds church all the way around. :)

I really appreciate the input here. Much to mull over. If I choose to attend any church ever, I will do it alone or just dh and I first. I don't want to confuse my kids further. Great insight.

Yes, I looked into scouts and the methodists have a troop, the lds have 3. Lol. So definitely NOT doing it with the LdS because I can't be around them nicely. As for the town size, roughly 4100. Wehave walmart bwcause we serve lots of little towns that are around us. We are 1.5 hrs from the metro areas. :)

Thank you. This is some great advice. I will definitely check into this further. They had a yard sale the other day and it was a pleasant interaction.

Ironically, here the lds chapel is right next to the methodist church.

Not sure! We are in this small town and I am just not meeting people. Son wants to do scouts, etc. can't really make friends at wal-mart so maybe juat attending a church? But then I'll be expected to go and stuff and I have no interest in that. I was just curious.

Thank you. I am seeking "community" for dh, kids and myself. Not sure if I am atheist or not as dh and I are still struggling after leaving the morg. Do you dress up to go to these churches or wear just normal clothes?

I hated the "work".i admit I loved the celestial room. It gave me time to just think without toddlers interupting or whatever. I admit that was nice. The rest I can do without forever.

We went to a nice casual dinner with DH non-LDS co-worker. They literally interrupted our conversation and said "let's pray". That was the most uncomfortable thing ever and frankly I thought it was rude. I felt put on the spot and didn't know what to do as I have stopped praying in general. Just didn't leave a good taste in my mouth. Even when I was TBM to the max I didn't do that an

How sad Dorothy. I am sorry for your loss. I am sorry God wasn't there in your deepest time of need. He wasn't there for ours either.

We are still in the closet too. Haven't told the family and I don't feel it's their business. But , if they ever came for a visit not sure how we'd react. Ugh. Wrong area...sorry.

Her idea of bars and drinking is off. She should try it and she'll see alcoholic drinks taste very good and it's not going to kill you-nor are you going to pick up chicks! Lol.

Glad to have a former las vegan here. Lol. North las vegas is full of hard working people for sure. Point well taken. Sad bundy thinks like that and finds himself calling the kettle black. Hmm.

Hey there wanderinggeek! Happy day to you! You don't come accross as the impatient type. It's nice to be more relaxed. I have noticed conversations happen more frequently and often. Things are said or asked that wouldn't have been. It's a nice change.

I have become much more relaxed and not so grumpy. still discipline but on a much needed basis rather than for every little thing. I think my kids think I may have gone crazy. :) I have also noticed that the kids don't seem to push boundaries as much.
