My ex could see dead people and worked hospice for a while. The normal procedure is for two relatives to come for you. When a patient sees this, their time is near. As for LDS doctrine, based on TSCC's track record with the facts I wouldn't believe a thing they say.

For me, it was like falling down the rabbit hole. Every little thing I tried to grab onto turned to crap. Crazy times. The church is a fascinating case study in abnormal psychology. You can learn a lot.

Isn't a constantly changing story kind of how lying works? Captain Obvious says -- "Sucks to be them."

Were Mulan and Pocahontas gay too? Maybe even Kung Foo Panda. Po liked those meatballs a little too much.

Yes, it gets easier. The vast majority of people on this board will tell you that they are happier having left. You will see in many posts here, and in your own experience, that the empathy that was repressed under Mormonism comes back in spades. Your mental health will improve by leaps and bounds although it won't happen overnight. There's a lot to work through, but it's so worth it.

It could be a backlash against porn. When your old fetishes are bulldozed, invent new ones. Of course, that also means inventing a new genre: shoulder porn.

Let me do the math. It takes $40K x 40 years = $1.6M to keep them in jail. It takes about that much to execute them, what with all the legal fees. So that's kind a wash and a bit off topic. I think in Mormonism life is more an abstraction than a real thing. If you can only address issues with ideology rather than critical thought, everything needs to be an abstraction in order to be dealt with

I went through the "I wish the church was true" phase too, but the more I learn the more I'm glad it isn't. Today, wishing it were true is like wishing the Earth were flat. It's so impossible for the church to be true that anything else is utter nonsense. The world seems so much bigger and brighter now.

They tricked me into updating. When their EULA pops up, click "Do Not Accept" and it will restore your old OS.

"She figured, if the guy I praised for my whole life turned out to be a man whore, and people still sing his praises, NOTHING is off limits." The unintended consequences of LDS theology. Some of the most bizarre crimes and murders involve RMs. Hey, be glad she didn't kill you.

The walls keeping the big bad world out have fallen. And it turns out the world isn't big and bad, it's big and beautiful. And those walls were keeping you in. Hopefully your family will break the chains that bind them. You're just ahead of the curve.

The interesting part to me was about being a Mormon for 40 years before the blinders fell off. Come think of it, I too wandered in the wilderness 40 years. Not 39, not 41. Anyway, I found this explanation intellectually satisfying as a way to fill in some of the holes in Mormon history that are too sketchy for anything but speculation.

This is like the Y2K scare. Cold Atmospheric Plasma (CAP) kills MRSA and a lot of other stuff. Sometimes almost miraculously, like Jesus in a box. I'm not worried about antibiotic resistant anything because affordable CAP will be here before you know it. I mean, it's cheap and it's here but there are regulatory hurdles. Superbugs - yawn.

For those who don't want to dismiss the supernatural and are open to an interesting perspective, I ran across a theory that Joseph was a dupe of none other than the ancient Nephalim (fallen angels). http://www.timetobelieve.com/2012/05/nephi-mormn-connection/ Basically, since Joseph was so deep into the occult and "White magic", he became susceptible to these fallen angels who pos

Joe was a little before Albert Hofmann's time, but just because he sold the snake oil doesn't mean he cooked it up. Cowdery and Whitmer were more likely the brains behind the operation, along with perhaps other of the "eight witnesses".

I just discovered a wonderful use for chopsticks: eating messy lunch snacks like Cheetos, flavored potato chips, etc. It also helps me resist the urge to shovel in handfuls.

You might benefit from religion if you're 10. But if you're a grown up and you still need an excuse to be good, you're not maturing in a healthy way. Goodness is a practice. Religion is just training wheels. Mormons are stuck at 10. Just saying.

Think of them as the M&M guys. Mormons have a hard candy shell. In your case, the truth dissolved it. I would do anything for love, but I won't do that. Or that, and definitely not that. You're not an M&M guy anymore. You're vulnerable to melting, for example.
