That sounds like a Utah native - where "How are you" means "hi". At best.

When you're done, you'll probably need to run Windows Restore, to put a couple of files back in place. Not too hard if you have the Windows CD/image your computer came with. Good luck! (If you're really stumped, email me - same nickname at bigfoot.com)

Get his committment in writing or recorded in some way. Maybe a recorded phone conversation? (I don't know if Utah requires notification to record a conversation or not...) That will at least prepare you for a worst-case situation, so you don't end up like the "who should I believe" situation again.

I may have the wrong term (I'm a computer programmer, not a psychiatrist)...but as I understand it, it's an unhealthy habit to worry about how other people will "feel" about your behavior. Especially when you are being "real" ... if they don't like reality, it's not your fault, nor is it your problem.

And this is a case in point. Then again, maybe you have to be cynical in order to pull this trick, but here goes: The *smart* bishop would not spout *why*, but instead would suggest "The promptings of the spirt tell me otherwise...perhaps you and I should have a chat?" (implying that the one who was just guessing had some sort of sin to deal with). Oh, Lord...please don't let t

When my wife first met my extended relatives, my grandfather got a bit touchy-feeley; caressing her whenever she was nearby. I'm sure you all understand that since I was BIC (as well as raised in this "family culture"), I didn't see anything wrong with it...and even if I had, I'd have been to "well behaved" to have done anything. My wife - a wonderful and strong-willed

The definition I always hear (and use) is "umerited favor" In your example, the folks at the debate earned a bit of chastising, but the hostess chose to treat them as though they had been perfectly behaved. Because of that, nobody had to suffer undue conflict.

My immediate thought is "Gee, mom - have you maybe swatted the 18-month-old's hand, so he thinks this is what you *do*?"

At one point you said: > I have in laws (whom she knows their emails and > phone numbers, but doesn't know are my in laws > because I didn't tell her I was married) ... But it seems that you're holding her to account for not accepting your wife? It certainly sounds like you have reasons to be upset with your mother - but it also looks like you're not giving her a chance to &qu

I second this. The pain really wasn't much of an issue the first day (*ahem* meds *ahem*)...so I didn't bother much with the ice pack. BOY was I surprised the next day when I went pee! There were *so many colors*!!! And by then, because I'd been so "manly", my wife had stopped pampering me. Don't be manly. Overdue the need for pampering!!!

Dagny: I can understand where you're coming from - "Who wants a psychotic god?" (I've said that often). Without arguing the "religion" view of it, I would like to propose one way that the "I am a sinner" mindset is beneficial - and (IMO, of course) would be very beneficial if all of humanity were to adopt it. Let me start by positing that all inter-personal co

I would like to point pout that this is a misunderstanding when applied to Christianity (at least as I understand it). My understanding of Christian teaching is that nobody can do enough to earn heaven.

You know those blood tests they do on babies? The one where they draw the blood from the baby's heel? That blood sample goes to a warehouse...and stays there. The warehouse keepers have been ordered by the court to destroy the samples, and they just plain won't. I think this is a government agency. ozpoof Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > The

How about opening the site to any business, but add a 'mormonness' rating system? Anybody could rate, but opinions from verified site members are given a different 'weight'. Maybe even allow registered members to vote on the validity of other members?

Thanks for looking in, I'm glad I got your attention! Prelude question for you - is it offensive to a non-member to be called Mormon? I'm reading "An American Fraud" (got the free ebook from Amazon when someone posted about it here a couple of weeks ago), and toward the end of chapter 8, the author discusses Utah's defamation statute...I quote her here: "...tending to blac
