I have an aunt who went through it. But I have no idea what she went through with it. I'm *guessing* it wasn't that bad...missionary discussion and rebaptism... But she rejoined because she realized "The church she left was really just her father's crazy interpretation of it" (Yes, grandparents *were* loose on their rockers...but the stuff *I* was raised with is the same stuff ev

Strangely enough, I see that as an easier situation to deal with - if there were only a very few "kids" at a time (say...five? Ten? Depends on how much actual support there was), we would be a LOT more likely to be able to provide real assistance.

I thought it was a good idea when I posted it...was surprised it hadn't been responded to. I'm glad to find others think it's a good idea, too. Anybody have any experience or even contact with managing a scholarship fund? Or am I going to have buy (maybe write?) a book: Scholarship Setup and Management for Dummies

Catching up on my EXMO...org reading, I came across this thread: http://exmormon.org/phorum/read.php?2,518689 and I couldn't help thinking "A scholarship for kids that have been cut off by their parents for leaving the church makes a lot of sense, and probably wouldn't cost that much" So I'm creating a thread, rather than replying. What would it take to set up such a scholar

I've been told quite a few times here "Welcome to Melbourne - four seasons, every day!" I'm enjoying it. Seems like a great mix of Florida and Southern Utah. The city itself is wonderful and confusing...little hidden gems everywhere! Shopping galleries that don't seem t have an entrance - but once you get inside? Wow! How do these stores stay in business with no "This i

I was raised LDS, active believer (church was boring as hell. Actually - hell would be church all day every day), but in the minority. There were quite a few mormons around, and we tended to stick together...lots of time spent re-inforcing our beliefs and explaining to ourselves why it was great to be special. I wasn't often asked about my religion, and I believed I could explain it quite

I'm down under for the rest of the week...thought it might be nice to say "hi" to some locals. But I'm too shy to just say "hi" unless I know there's something to talk about! :) I'm down from Salt Lake City, in case you have questions about the aeorta of Mormondom...

I think one of the core questions to ask is - do you believe in miracles? The atheist denies a miracle - it's just an unknown but natural event. The believer accepts miracles can happen. (Yes, I'm a Christian...a practicing Christian, as I'm not a good Christian :)
