How wonderful religion is. Putting people in prison for supposedly "insulting" a book of mythical nonsense.
"Blasphemy" laws, by the way, are still on the books in a number of somewhat surprising countries, including Switzerland, the Philippines, Israel, Italy, Ireland, and many more...just sad.

Well, "officially" it still claims to be a secular democracy. And it acted that way for a long time. Moving towards a muslim theocracy is a fairly recent development. At least on a national level.
A good friend I went to college with is head of Indonesia's largest tea/beverage company (inherited from his dad). He's getting more and more worried that the country WILL become an actual muslim theocracy. He has contingent plans for he and his family to live in the US, in case it happens. He says it's already getting really, really bad.
Actually, America was NOT founded as a Christian nation, as so many Christians mistakenly claim, as Christian really means Catholic. If you do not think so then just look at some of the South American countries that really are Christian countries that have it written into their constitution that their president has to be a Catholic. Protestant style Christianity just happened to take over in America, even as it was founded on the Masonic principle of freedom of religion. Christianity / Catholicism has no such principle/ no such leeway.
NONE of the signers of the Declaration of Independence are Catholic. Many of them were Masons. THE lodge and THE (catholic) church were completely at odds for many centuries. THE great secret of THE lodge is that there is NO Jesus Christ. Funny thing, that is also the great secret of THE catholic church and Christianity!!!!!! The Catholic Church did not like the Masons deconstructing their Jesus myth.
Just because some of the founding fathers attended some church at some time or spoke of some god, does NOT mean that they were Christian.
