This is a good post. If this goes on for months I will have to trim my hair. So I will need to order the right scissors I guess? A definite tip for women: don’t dye your hair at home, especially if you usually get highlights. Those roots will have to wait post-pandemic (yikes!)
On her birthday one year, my mother and I had gone shopping to get her gifts. We came home and she was locked in the bathroom. She had pretty much cut her hair off. One time she cut it so short in the back, it just stuck out. She's always been a bit nutty and still is all these years later. I'm sure she still trims her hair. She never admits to it.
I know of a cut-rate barber shop in Bothell, WA, only $5 for seniors; if I'm going to the 'east side' (across Puget Sound from home), I plan trips to go there...
cheapest in Sequim is $14, the $20 barbers don't speak well of her...
My hairdresser actually called me to say don't cut it, just let the top curl and pull it back for now. Since in 2 weeks I will be gainfully unemployed, I think I can just see what happens. Until then I am working from home anyway.
I don't need to cut mine, thank goodness. It's just long and one length. But I do have a little gadget which helps me to cut it, if I need to, called a CreaClip. The thing actually does a pretty good job. (Not sponsored. LOL)
I have been cutting my own hair for +20 y. Saves me a lot of money. A friend's mom did nice hair cuts at her home. She use to be a professional haircutter.
The governor of AZ just closed the barber shops. I've got some clippers, but I'm considering just letting it all grow until this is over. It won't affect my appearance--per CDC recommendation, I'll be wearing a mask outdoors anyway.
We have different generations of Wahl clippers - probably one of the best products we've ever bought. It's really not that hard, and I suspect most people could do their own fairly easily.
Of course, this is making me think of the Flowbee:
I can testify this is true. Eight weeks ago I was a blonde, and already I am a brunette with my hair up at work. I will have before and after photos in a folder called Apocalypse me. I’m embracing change. If I look different it’s not my fault. The first time I’ve had that excuse :-)
