I thought atheists didn't believe in karma?

Karma doesn't involve theism.

"Karma works without the intervention of any other being - gods or angels have no part to play in dispensing rewards or punishments."

Agree. It's all woo. Karma is more interesting than God as a judge and heaven and hell, but it's all part of the same ball of magic/fantasy.

>> "Karma is a religious concept."

...that doesn't involve theism...no gods, no angels to believe in....you seem to be missing that point. From your link....

>> "In ancient texts (1000–700 BCE) of the Vedic religion, karma referred simply to ritual and sacrificial action. As the priestly theology of sacrifice was articulated by Brahman priests over the following centuries, however, ritual action came to be regarded as effective by itself, independent of the gods. Karma as ritual functioned autonomously and according to a cosmic ritual law."

>> "In the middle of the 1st millennium BCE, the Vedic theologian Yajnavalkya expressed a belief that later became commonplace but was considered new and esoteric at the time: “A man turns into something good by good action and into something bad by bad action.”

Karma is about actions in this life that determine your place in your next life, not belief in god to get you to the next. life. No god, no theism.
