God didn't want me see the last local ring of fire in my lifetime. He sent clouds to obscure my view.

What I could see was small glimpses, but they were wonderful.

I witnessed a partial solar eclipse maybe five years ago, using safety glasses. Since then I've had twin eye surgeries, and am much more protective of my sight. There will be a total eclipse in Maine in the spring, but I think I'll give it a pass.

On another forum, a guy posted a satellite image of the eclipse's trajectory right across his driveway (Texas).
