Seen it. It's alright. Not convinced Bowie was the best of actors to be honest.
I found a new one a few years ago. I streamed it and it was called "Beyond Christmas" but some people made a big fuss about calling it that, how can can you have anything beyond Christmas you know?
So the copy I bought is called "Beyond Tomorrow" and I watch it every year.
My favorite is "Scrooge: and/ or "A Christmas Carol" with Alastair Sim.
Many years ago I saw SIM on a London street. He was quite well known in his day and as a youth I thought it a forerunner of who I would rub shoulders with in my big city life.
Alastair Sim was a wonderful actor. Although the films are wholesome British nonsense, his double role in the St. Trinians film's, as a prim headmistress and her shady brother, is fantastic acting (and very funny). He was extremely versatile.
I don't really watch TV and only rarely go to the cinema - most recently the excellent Asteroid City by Wes Anderson - but if pushed for a Christmas film, I'd choose the French version of Amélie Poulain, known as Amélie in the anglosphere, which is full of good sentiments presented in a fresh and thoroughly non-religious, humanistic way. Oh yes, it's also very funny.
“A Christmas Carol”, but the musical version starring Mr. Magoo. The voice cast includes Morey Amsterdam and Jack Cassidy (father of teen idols David and Shaun).
My older brother got a BB gun when he was fairly young. Then my two younger brothers--born 12 and 15 years after the oldest brother also got BB guns when they were young, but they had to shoot them while at the farm.
School seemed to be a lot like that growing up, too. The cussing also reminded me of being a kid, but we weren't punished for cussing as my dad cussed a lot more than we did. We all copied our dad when we were little kids. Changing the tire another one.
I so hated going to see Santa and we didn't do it very often. All the supposed fun things to do with Christmas were tiring like the waiting to see Santa. I don't know if I ever took my kids. I do have pictures of them with Santa though.
My older brother always tried to sneak out to sleep under the Christmas tree and he took my older sister and I along. We always got caught.
