Are there any ramifications to being excommunicated from the Mormon Chruch....ie, bad mark on your good name for doing say business, back ground checks for employment or say Conceled Weapon Carry Permits (which I have one here in Idaho), and such?

I have good credit and a good name for myself having been in employment for the past decade for which periodic back ground checks are manditory, not to mention me being a Teamster by trade and my CDL has a HazMAt endorsement on it which requires finger printing as well.

Could excommunication mean a black mark on my good name? If so, and they do 'X' me, for nothing more than in activity or turning in my resignation and they try to 'X' me instead, I will sue them.

Only if you deal with Mormons who know of it.

If you resign, they can't excommunicate you. You are no longer a member.

Resigning won't affect any licenses. If your employer is LDS, it could make a difference, but why on earth would you tell your employer?

I don't think you need to worry. Personally, if that ever showed up in a background I would be thrilled. It would mean I was about to hit the lottery. I would be suing the pants off of them.
