Hi I live in Boise and we love it. We moved to Meridian first, which is "little Provo" in the Northwest part. Boise is completely different than Meridian. A lot less Mormons. Also the schools are better. House prices have shot up here. There is a ton to do outside, big name concerts, Broadway shows come, minor league hickey and baseball. In the summer the Shakespeare festival. F

http://www.themomentswestand.com These events happened by where we used to live. I have Facebook Friends that are also friends with the family in real life. Basically husband had an affair with co-worker. Coworkers husband found out and killed the husband leaving the mom a widow of five. Even though I'm never mo I guess since it happened so close to me I can't stop reading this blog.

Yes the Temples would be very close to each other. The location shocked my husband and I as we assumed it would be near the freeway at the 10 mile interchange to be more prominent. This is further away from the freeway on a bluff off a more rural area. Well Eagle Island is rural. They've recently added a Fred Meyer to the area. The reasoning for the Temple is that people in Star, Canyon C

This story has been on all the news: http://www.idahostatesman.com/2013/10/22/2828495/ada-county-considers-mormon-temple.html The story has also been on the local Facebook pages for the tv stations. To me the comments are the best. KTVB or Idahoonyourside

Mormons are cheap and use the system. In Meridian, Idaho they try to get into two different charter schools: Compass and North Star. Now, North Star is having all sort of financial troubles and may close. Then they'd be sent back to the Meridian School District which is overcrowded. Mormons can't afford to send kids to their own private school, so they just make the public schools fit t

I live in Northwest Meridian aka "Little Provo." We moved here out of state about 7 years ago. We are never-mos that have seen this area become more and more Mo every year. I think since the new Temple is going in it will go get worse out here. With that said, Boise proper and Boise Schools are the best and much less Mormon. Definitely try to buy in Boise and make sure that it'

Nevermo here who went and toured the Boise Temple a few weeks ago. I couldn't believe how many of the "Future Missionary" badges I saw there. At a party my husband saw a kid dressed in suit and said "Look it's a future mormon missionary." I had to correct him and say "No dear, it's a "Men in Black" movie costume." We got a great chuckle out of that on

He says that they shouldn't call Mormons Christians. I saw the article below. I'm an evangelical Christian in the "Mini-Provo" aka Northwest Meridian, Idaho. I've found that after moving here, our friends/family in other states don't get it. I think this blogger does and I agree with other "selling out." http://religion.blogs.cnn.com/2012/11/01/my-take-billy-graham-and-

My friend and I went to tour the Temple; our husbands stayed home with the kids. We made a reservation, but it didn't matter because they herded us like cattle through the process. Traffic was way backed up too. Then we saw so many people with little kids. We waited in one room, then we went and watched a video about Temples. Then we were led in groups over to the Temple. Youth put covers o

WOW Thanks so much for your help! I love you guys. We'd made plans and then she texted yesterday that EVERYTHING was closed. Now I have some great ideas! If anyone ever needs anything in Meridian, Idaho, let me know! I'll buy a coffee or Mountain Dew!

We are headed from Boise to visit our friends who moved to SLC. Both of us are nevermos. We were looking for things to do Sunday. City Creek Mall is closed, Dinosaur Museum closed, overstock.com store closed??? Any ideas of fun things that are open? We've been to the Tracy Aviary since it was opened on Sunday on our last visit.

I looked up the book and it is "Secret Ceremonies." My mom had me read it in High School and it freaked the crap out of me! As an 18 year old I knew I wanted more for my life! While in Idaho an ex-mormon friend recommended "Under the Banner of Heaven" which is another must read!

We moved to Northwest Meridian, Idaho in 2006 from out of state. I grew up with Mormons, went to a few stake dances. I thought they were nice, but weird people. My mom had me read "Secret Ceremonies" or something in High School and that's when I stopped dating Mormons. I mean who wants to wash condoms? We moved to family friendly neighborhood with a pool. The kids don't play wit

I am a female living in the Morridor of NW Meridian. Here are two websites when I see a lot of fashion come from: www.downeastbasics.com http://bella-bird.com/ It's the white or black tight shirt with a sleeveless shirt over it. It's longer capri or shorts to knees. Lots of layering too. I see the poor overwhelmed ones at story time with their "Y" shirts and 4 kids. Bagg

Thanks for the info. I thought it was creepy and I was right. I think her parents gave the info :( I'm just thankful to have neighbors with kids my kids ages, the parents are really good/strict, and we can send kids back and forth. I love you guys!

We got new neighbors in Little Provo aka NW Meridian, ID. Had fun hanging out, kids playing, etc. My "modar" didn't go off. Fast forward a month and I make an inappropriate comment about Mo's. Husband says wife is a MO. He says she's a Jack-mo. I had noticed Molly Mo being super nice to them, 12 days of Christmas gifts, playdates, when they've NEVER done anything for us in 6 years

We moved to Northwest Meridian 6 years ago and we call it "Little Provo." They've put up two ward buildings in the last year and there is at least one every mile. Our neighborhood is really LDS and you can tell it. We bought a "mormon" house and once they found out we weren't they never came back. We've had issues with LDS not letting their kids play with ours, snubbing at

I'm a never mo and I posted the video on Facebook. One non-mo friend commented that it creeps her out and is there a "Do Not Baptize" list she can get on? I said it doesn't bother because I don't believe it, but it does make me mad mormons aren't listening to the Jews. Then some random mormon "friend" I haven't talked to in two years posts a link to mormon dot org about

OMG as a nevermo in Idaho I was shocked when we moved her how the parents don't parent or watch their kids. At the pool I don't know how many kids I've saved from drowning! Everyone has a trampoline too. "So, basically, I think it's a problem of overburdened, undereducated moms who just don't care enough because they don't know to worry or they just don't have it in them to worry about

I live 2.5 miles from the new Temple site. We are calling our part of Northwest Meridian "Little Provo." A couple of Mo's posted on Facebook all about it yesterday. They've built two ward houses here in the last year within one mile of each other. I think the location sucks for several reason: 1. The road is two lanes 2. It's 2.5 miles from my house :( 3. They closed the B

Thanks for all the help! If people ever asked about Boise I'd say to move to Boise proper and not Meridian, especially northwest which we call "Little Provo."

Hi...this board has helped me so much to understand my LDS neighbors here in Idaho. I'm so thankful to figure out why they don't talk to us, ignore us, and are just weird. So if my husband got transferred to SLC where could we live that isn't as LDS as others? Are there any places we should avoid? A friend said we should put our kids in private school?

When your husband signs up to coach two of your four kid's soccer teams, make sure he can actually show up. We paid money to have a coach, and not someone miss because his church "calling" is Boy Scouts and he is camping/hunting 4 of the 8 weeks of the season. He doesn't even have a son in the scouts??? There's a reason us never-mo's on the team didn't get him a coach's gift at the

Here a link to article as well as over 300 comments about it. I think it's interesting to see all the comments. http://www.idahostatesman.com/2011/08/27/1779457/boises-lds-temple-gets-a-13-million.html I wondered why they didn't wait to redo it until they open the Meridian Temple? I would like to tour it before the re-dedication. Is it true they rip up all the carpets from never mo's li

They haven't said where the Temple will be. When we looked at moving here and toured in Paramount subdivision (which has 2 wards) their community map said "future missionary training center" and thus far nothing has been developed (corner of Linder and Chinden). My husband thinks nearer I-84 for more visability?

I"m a never-mo who moved from the South to Meridian, Idaho 4 1/2 years ago. We call it "Little Provo." On our street we have "mormon preschool house" and "mormon garage dance studio." The street is full of kids my kids age who don't talk to us or associate with us either. Halloween they were trying to get everyone to go on Saturday not sunday and we all said
