Thank you for writing on this site. I am so sorry for your loss. It will hurt for quite a while but if you share your happy memories about him the pain will ease and a smile will fill your heart and appear on your face. Good thoughts are good for you. Loads of warm hugs to you and those that really loved your brother

I rang the court but all they would say is that all summonses state arrival as 10a.m. Not sure how true that is. They wouldn't say whether the case was listed 1st,2nd, etc. Not helpful at all. My thoughts are with Tom today. I hope he had a good nights sleep allowing him to be on top form for the proceedings. Best wishes Tom

As usual they make out the problem is with the person who has left. What is this supposed to mean.. “We are aware of some who are inactive, of others who have become critical and are prone to find fault"..... I have only found 'fault' because its there for all to see. The truth they talk about doesn't exist but I/we are finding fault. I am sick of being accused of being in the wro

I had it mentioned to me at a TR interview (I had previously been told about it by my bishop), and was asked how I felt about it. I said it was great news and I was very happy about it. The stake person doing the interview said he was glad I felt like that because a good many members had expressed their disappointment at the news. What on earth could they be disappointed about. The gospel is for

I have to agree with you FreeRose. I'm glad he has exposed so much about WJ, but when is he going to expose JS. Surely he can't be so ignorant of what JS did, after all he mentioned that the FLDS use some of the same scriptures as LDS, and where did the LDS get their scriptures from? It's all so plain and clear to me and I'm no great mastermind. I'm at a loss to know how his mind works.

All I know is that you can pick flies out of all religions, I'm sure some of those doing the laughing belong to some religious group or another and they may be a laughing stock somewhere else. And the choice of whether a mother goes to work or not is also on thin ground. A mother could stay at home and the kids not have all the necessary food, clothes etc but be perfectly decent kids. On the

You guys are just great. I love it when these little hiccups are pointed out. But it scares me to think that I was one of the 'blind' people who didn't think of these things when a mo. Can I just say, for anyone one else looking at these scriptures, I think a slight misprint with the verse has occurred (easily done), should be ch 16 v 10. Thanks again, started my day of with a good feeling.

Yes we went to the temple in the early 70's and it was all there then. It blew my mind but as usual you think you will understand later as everyone tells you its the most sacred event you can take part in....!!! We weren't the most faithful in going to the temple so as changes took place we just accepted them. Till now that is. Can't believe all the changes just to make it more acceptable.

I agree with Shane G. We had a life of being forced (that's the way i see it) whilst being in the church. As an adult your son can make his own decisions, but if you can be normal and show how happy you are without the church he will never be able to criticize the choice you have made by leaving. The church talks about happy families, but you can't be happy in it. You can be happy out of i

Is there such a surplus of women that it's okay for one man to have so many wives and still other men don't miss out. I think its about time he (as Judge Judy would say) kept his pants zipped. It makes me want to puke when I read about these men who think they are 'God's gift to women'. Oh by the way - I had a visit from the angel Gabriel and he told me NOT to marry this man. Thank you G

I seem to recall that every priesthood holder was told never to miss a priesthood mtg. So why should this EQP be able to go out of a mtg and encourage others to do the same? Here goes another change. Will the morg ever stay the same.

Doesn't it make you wonder what their homes must be like. I suppose when they had custodians they got used to knowing that someone will come in and clean so they really don't care. It must have been like having a mum who never tells you to clean up after you. Mo's will be asked to do more and more, yet they will still support and be obedient to the cult.

Told them there were problems believing it now. Have adult children who didn't really go but would do things to please us. When we did resign we asked them if they wanted to too. They agreed so 8 of us left, basically at the same time. We were not popular in that ward and have been shunned. Who cares - not me.

I add my thoughts, sympathy and love to you at this sad time. I know this board is more than just about religion gone bad. So many people feel safe sharing very personal experiences. People here are genuine and do listen. It helps to express our inner most thoughts/feelings. Fondest love to you and those you hold dear.

I can remember as a tbm (it makes me shudder to write that) here in England thinking how rude it was when we had taken the trouble to go to our meetinghouse on a conf weekend hoping to hear something uplifting, only to find that during the hymn singing the session was interrupted by advertising. We had all stood to sing with the congregation in SL only to be cut off in mid song. We all sat down

Totally agree with all the above. RfM provides so much support. My biggest gift is the freedom I enjoy - hence the name. freedom is sweet.

All I know is that you don't need to look at what apologists are saying now. Look at what was taught in church history (remember God directed Joseph Smith) and look at what they teach now. How could God have got it so wrong? The advice you are getting from this site is from people who have gone through what you're going through, and they know the pitfalls of trying to listen to the mormon w

I'm sorry that you are both going through the pain. Surely, however her religion teaches that she shouldn't give up on you, so she should be patient and set an example to you. I'm sure you hope she will follow the path you are taking and she in turn hopes you will return to the fold. It's not about who wins, its about being happy, and you can't be happy when you are forced to live a certain

Well said mo larkey. I have on occasions tried to read Ash's response to the truth, but I always get tangled up in knots. What sort of a mind does he have. Does he know he contradicts what leaders have said. I know the morg says that the living prophet is more important than the ones that are gone, but does Mr Ash look on himself as being more important than the living prophet? He must

Surely if you do whatever the church asks you to do without question, you should realize that this is mind control not obedience, in light of the fact that the morg teaches the importance of intelligence. Or if you know all about the church i.e. the changes that have happened and all its history you should be out of there like a shot. So what is a 'faithful member' and what are they faithfu

This is very close to my heart. I'm in England and love to read these 'exit' stories. I hope this ex bishop and his wife fully resign from the church soon. I know they will begin to feel better once they get their lives back fully. Come on you Brits say goodbye to that cult that has your mind.

Yes, as far as the morg is concerned families come first as long as they don't interfere with what moism expects of you. After all families are forever so your sister will have time to be with her in the eternities. Stupid cult. Does this put you on a spot, as your mother's money has been used to 'remodel'a room. What does your sister do with her house while she goes abroad? Hope you can wo

Yes its frightening when moism is involved, but I agree with Boilermaker, you have to be able to discuss without getting emotional/annoyed. Life is about making choices and we don't all make the same choice so we have to handle things in a positive way. Don't let either of your beliefs get in the way of your marriage if you want to stay together. Respect each others views. Yes it hurts, but its

I never understood how the morg came up with the birthdate of Jesus, but here in England the 6th is the start of a new tax year, could it be something to do with MONEY!!! Stupid cult. Just saying.
