My only recollection of the Cardston temple cafeteria dates back to 1960-61?..ish after my lone dead dunking visit(I never attended as an adult) and they had yummy bran muffins.

I wonder how many Alberta Mormon kids still aspire to attend one of the BYU's now? Back in my day there were a lot, including me (I went to Ricks because my grade 12 marks weren't high enough to get into university here).

Years ago on a warm Wednesday evening I was shooting trap at our local club near our airport and a squadron of WW2 aircraft stopped over in Lethbridge enroute to Edmonton to clear customs, refuel and attend a banquet in their honor. After dinner 2 Supermarine Spitfires and a B-17 did some flying around Lethbridge and the sound of those Spitfires and their Rolls Royce Merlin V12's as they flew ove

Brian composed the soundtrack to my teen years. Surfer tunes, hot rod culture and Brian's profound influence on so many other musicians will reverberate for generations. RIP

As a child, our yearly Christmas trip to the beautiful Hudson Bay store in Calgary was an adventure. Floor upon floor of wonder. Like Nightingale I'm not much of a shopper, but I'll miss not having it here.

I've driven by the Cardston temple when it didn't look busy...but the justification for building the one in Lethbridge was that Cardston was at capacity.

1966-67, I was a foreign student at Ricks, and not subject to the Vietnam War draft, and that pissed off a few people, and they let me know it.

So, a Raymond, Alberta resident won C$250k on a scratch ticket purchased at a Raymond gas station...and says he has no plans yet as to what he'll do with his windfall (which BTW is tax free in Canada). If he's a Mormon I'd bet there'd be big pressure to cut a $25k to the cult.

When I arrived in Rexburg in September 1966 I wasn't ready for the "making sure I'm worthy for my mission call" zealotry that I encountered in most of my dorm mates. It was the beginning of my journey out of the church.
