I watched Super Bowl 1 at Ricks. Only one I've watched the whole game. Don't remember who won.

I don't usually watch the NFL but kinda got caught up in the Lions turnaround under coach Campbell and their March to the game on Sunday. I'll probably give the Superbowl a pass, though.

I am not aware or sure if any churches here opened to the homeless during our recent brutal cold snap. A week ago it was -41 here with a -50 wind chill. The public library opened it's doors as a warming center. I know of one death as a result of the cold. There was talk of some who won't use our homeless shelter (which is run by the Blood Tribe, largest native reserve in Canada, which borders Let

I know that my feelings towards my friend have changed since then. I can't explain why, just an uneasiness knowing certain opinions he may have are totally clouded by his culture. And I wonder what he thinks about my girlfriend spending her summers here. What's the JW manual say about that?

My best friend growing up was raised Anglican but us JW now since marrying his second wife. We are still friends but never discuss religion. Last year he and his wife were at dinner with my girlfriend and I and after the wine was poured at raised my glass for a toast and told abruptly "we don't do toasts". Awkward.

I was diagnosed at age 11 with a condition that required a prescription for 2 powerful drugs that materially changed my metabolism. The diagnosis was flawed, turns out but I paid the price.

I tend to read Mayo Clinic articles when researching medical issues as they apply to me. I want to know the science and I've been complimented by my doctors for my knowledge and being able to chat about medical stuff from a position of knowing something.

I hate liver. We raised premium beef and liver got served every couple weeks, but I wasn't forced to eat it. I hate turnips too. My late wife loved liver and onions but not the smell of it cooking, so she ordered it in restaurants. Perfect.

I knew some men in the ward I grew up in that I suspected were abusive in the manner your father is. Thankfully my father was the opposite. Supportive and loving. I bet a non Mormon psychologist could come up with name for parental abuse related to religious zealotry.

Thank you. I was/am lucky to have found her. As for that atmospheric river...I wish it would sneak over the Rockies. We are treacherously dry and low on water. Lowest river flows in living memory for people older than I. All we're getting is Chinook winds.

Growing up in the cult but admittedly not paying attention to much of what was preached or taught, I did take note of the 3 degrees of heaven and my inferiority complex made me certain I wasn't headed for the CK. Thar was before I was ordained a deacon and really started to doubt everything.
