I know right? The stupidest two verses of shite ever written, right there in front of my nose and never interpreted as such until I removed the veil of brainwashed in bias from my eyes. I think the BOM is one of those "pretty good books" that Holland has read.

How is this not clear to us? We should recognize the blatant bigotry here. The church has done the exact same thing we have called it out for in its policy on LBGQ folks. "We love you but because my god says, you are equal expect for because my god says, your children can't participate but nothing is lost because at 18 you can become one of us if you disavow your parents because my god

Decades of being taught the restored gospel. Hundreds of years worth in total of continually being told and teaching others that telling the truth is paramount. What did you find? Liars. Yet, the reality of the end product is rotten fruit. The end product is what Jesus supposedly despised and he physically removed such from the temple. How in the hell is that possible do you think from a

"You knew what I was when you picked me up. Said the Rattlesnake to the Fox." You've made your assessment. It's not good and you know it. Are you asking for permission? For acceptance by this forum of an obvious bad future decision? Do what you like but here is an observation. There are 3.5 billion women on planet earth. Let that sink in for a moment.

I agree with others about shutting the hell up. This is the same advice we give to teenagers living under the parent roof. Toe the line. Make a plan for the long game with the church and the wife. Stick to it! Then when the date arrives cash in. You'll look back and say "Thank effing god I hung in there!" You can still look faithful even without accepting a calling. Just say &q

James83 It's happening. You are figuring out that you are being told what life to live and you are all but done with it. "Who's life am I living?" This is banging around in your head isn't it James? It's your life! 100%. Time to tell others to back the hell off. Even your partner (in nice words of course) Time to be honest James. Time to grow balls if you want to survive

Your daughter is probably old enough and having grown up in the age of Googling, have her google "petition against mormon bishops interviewing children". Petition started by a mormon Bishop. If a Bishop is horrified and doesn't want his own family affected by this atrocious practice why pray tell would anyone else? Have her google up stories of abuse by mormon bishops. The

This is the most correct answer IMO. There is far too much to look forward to and enjoy in life than to be constantly looking in the rear view mirror in the false hope of rewriting the future with a past that has a proven track record of failure and disappointment. Make peace with it. Move forward without the emotional anchors. It's that old adage "the best revenge is success"

Bingo. I truly believe that there is a large xfer of wealth going on to launder Tithing and get it into the families of the Mormon elite. What better way than unnecessary refurbishment by companies basically run by the church itself? Think of the hidden but legal fees and performance bonuses that can be written into these contracts! This is only one of how many ways this xfer is happenin

Spiritual Extortion. Thats what mormonism is. Made to think Satan is real, made to think the outside world will never know "true" happiness unless your follow mormon rules and pay tithing (protection money). I can't imagine having your own son beat you. A son that for his entire life was taught supposed christlike teachings and was sent out into the world for two years to be &qu

Go for it. The goal is not to get the mishies to convert or admit anything. The goal is to get them to think! If no one helps them think and show them new info with valid perspectives then who will? If 50% of mishies that come home eventually leave how many did so due to things learned while on a mission imparted by someone like touchstone who used his life experience and time to help

Friends will come the old fashioned way. Not in the pre-packaged automated version that mormonism provided. Much better friends coming. Be patient, search them out at your leisure. It's like Southwest always says, "you are now free to move about the cabin!"

Just to be clear Lamanites were a figment of an imagination placed into a book that was highly plagiarized and used to start a religious following back when shoving your head in a hat while staring at a rock was the way to communicate with an unseen entity. In other words, Lamanites were never real.

And years from now when he realizes his mistake and retreats from the church will he then write another book or will he quietly fade away and never say a peep as the book continues to be used as another poster said so accurately, "a Weapon"?

It's the secret gay agenda doncha know! If you were paying attention the gays know how to make god good and angry! So they buy up all the stock in companies that make plywood, glass, drywall you know new home construction stuff. Then they get together and gay it up real good and walla! Gods gets pissed, kicks everybody's asses and it's a financial windfall for the gay agenda! Then they

Hey Gern! Me Too! I damn near cried at that venue. Scratch that I teared up. i don't buy the trinkets, do the costumes or attend the Science fiction conferences but I did identity with Gene Roddenberry's stories of adventures, ethics and morals via venturing out into space. Space travel has been in my blood since the day I picked up "Star Gate" by Andre Norton (a she BTW) b

I have attended this conference twice. Fantastic both times. I am a critical support person for an event on those dates. Otherwise I would be going for one purpose and that is so that I could shake Simon Southerton's hand in person. Everything else at the conference would be very good gravy. His book imprinted on my brain forever, the depth and breadth of how incredibly damning DNA e

The nano-second the statement "But what if it's true" is made that is an automatic indictment that they DO NOT KNOW and they have perjured themselves with any so called testimony of "I know this church is true". All excuses come to naught the moment the above is used as a plea for the unbeliever to "reconsider" their supposed wrong reasons for leaving the church

FAIR Mormon. We have an excuse for that! Ten Thousand give or take. Anti-mormon lie? Nope per FAIR Mormon, mormon truth confirmed. The excuses they provide are down right hilarious at times but mostly maddening. Notice their website has a disclaimer that they don't speak for the church. So why does the church send doubters there for answers? Below this line of text is the amou

I need to buy more Tapir stock! Geesh. You guys are right. Twist one impossibility ten ways to attempt to make that one detail work and there's a thousand more. My favorite: There were lots of gold, silver and precious things of all kinds everywhere! Then in the very next verse: Eh, not so much really.

It's a hook, a trap. Like getting a pre-approved credit card in the mail. This is the church using the Internets digital world to hook those on the fence back in. There probably are a few that respond to this little hook. The cost is small, the payoff huge if another tithe payer can be re-activated. Look at this like a business would. Then it becomes very clear.

Come on. Give Mr. Dawkins a break. Not a prophet. Does not claim any power of discernment. Does not claim to be moved by spirits of any kind. Does not profess any special powers given by unseen beings, Richard really is "just a man".
