Does your son have a cellphone that can record? If not buy him a micro recorder and have him keep it in a pocket and turn it on when his dad is in the same room as him. You could also set up a tiny web cam to record what happens when you aren't there. Any evidence of mistreatment would help.

I know for certain that there is no direct connection. We are not permitted to do work that the govt. can make classified - and in my area of specialization, this can be problematic for the govt. When we were doing voting stuff, we lost 5 weeks of research time, because the rights to publish had to be negotiated (big fight) and we wouldn't even look at the code until we won the right to publish

Two words: Hired Help. I don't understand how anybody making 200K/year > greater can't hire a cleaning lady? I don't clean anything willingly.
