Good afternoon and happy Easter. I was known as "exconvertinAZ" and decided to change my name to "ChooseTheReasonble" for now. I like that phrase. Some of you know my back story about being baptized for a short 2 months. I got mixed up with the Mormons because I was new to the area, going through rough times, and wanted to make new friends. I resigned my membership less tha

I was a protestant before I briefly joined the LDS church. After I left TSCC, I lost my faith in God. I tried going to Catholic Mass, Unity church, back to the Protestant church (PCUSA) and to be honest, I wish I believed in God. I'm spiritually hurt and the only reason I went to the Presbyterian church this morning was to listen to Handel's Hallelujah. I wish I still believed in God. I would b

A friend of mine has Aspberger's and left TSCC a long time ago. He's a brilliant guy who is really trying hard to improve socially. I admire him a lot. He's way too smart to believe in the crap dished out by the church. In fact, someone else with Aspberger's told me that having it is a "blessing" in terms of the church because they're too smart to be "brainwashed in such a way&q

All of this happened to me, too. Multiple meetings, not answering my questions, telling me to "pray" about it, trying to make me read from the BoM to get the "feeling" that it's true, and finally having another convert come in and tell me I have "low standards". A month later, my letter came from SLC telling me that my name has been removed and if should ever wish

THe fact that they keep addressing you by your old name is GOOD. You don't want these people knowing anything about your life now.. not even your name! I kept using my old address and info - even when I got baptized. I never filled in my parents' names, etc. It was all "nunya".. nunyadamnbidness

Way to go! I felt the way you did. I was only a convert for a few months but when I first left, I felt guilty about everything - even coffee and iced tea! I felt guilty if I wore sleeveless shirts too! Incredible the amount of mind control that they try to inflict on members.

A bit of back ground on me. I was a convert. I was going through rough times when I converted a few years ago. You know how the church is... they "love bomb" you. Well, I left and had my baptism cancelled. I wanted no part in that church. Fast forward to now, I hold no ill feelings against Mormons. I did for a while but I got over it. Getting baptized was so embarrassing because I kne
